</h2>
<p>
The NHL team at the top of the 2019 Stanley Cup futures list is the Winnipeg Jets at +700 in the Western Conference followed by the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Toronto Maple Leafs at +800 betting odds in the Eastern Conference.
</p>
<p>
The Jets finished three points behind Nashville in the Central Division last season with 114 total points at 52-18-11. They were knocked out of the playoffs in the conference finals by Vegas. With a deep roster that is both fast on offense and tough on defense behind goalie Connor Hellebuyck, Winnipeg is more than capable of taking that next step.
</p>
<p>
Tampa Bay has been a perennial power in the East in recent seasons going back to 2015 when it went all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals. The Lightning could not get past Washington in last season’s conference finals, but they should be right back in the mix this time around as well.
</p>
<p>
The most interesting favorite is Toronto, which has won 13 NHL titles in the history of this storied franchise. Two consecutive first round exits in the postseason the past two years could have actually set the stage for a deeper run this season. The Maple Leafs have a real stud in center Auston Matthews, and goalie Frederik Anderson was fourth in the league in wins last year.

</h2>
<p>
The next tier of teams on the futures list contains some very familiar Stanley Cup contenders including the defending champion Capitals and the Boston Bruins in the East along with the Nashville Predators and Vegas Golden Knights in the West all listed at +1200 odds to win. You can add the Pittsburgh Penguins to the list at +1400.
</p>
<p>
The basic core of players that led Pittsburgh to Stanley Cup titles in 2016 and 2017 remains in place headlined by Sidney Crosby as a scoring machine and Matt Murray in goal. Last season’s second-round exit in the postseason should provide the necessary motivation to make the Penguins a serious contender to get back on top in 2019.

<p>
Moving down the list to the teams with longer odds to win it all this season, the Los Angeles Kings and the San Jose Sharks out of the Pacific Division are next at +2000. There is a host of teams at +2500 led by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the East and the Edmonton Oilers in the West.
</p>
<p>
Lurking even deeper in the Stanley Cup futures is the Chicago Blackhawks at +3300 betting odds. Quite a few things went wrong for Chicago last season, which was the first time it missed the playoffs over the past 10 seasons. This is still a very deep roster when it comes to lighting the lamp, and a healthy Corey Crawford in goal gives Chicago a chance to win every game he is between the pipes. There are still quite a bit of question marks with this team heading into training camp, but you cannot completely ignore the incredible success of the franchise over the past decade.
