Seattle at Dallas Game Overview

Seattle’s first straight-up win of the season was a 24-13 victory against Dallas as a one-point home favorite back in Week 3 following a 0-2 start. It went on to close things out with a bang as part of a 6-1 straight-up run that includes a 4-2-1 record against the spread. The Seahawks went an even 4-4 SU on the road this season and 4-3-1 ATS. The total went OVER in their last three games. They were an excellent betting team getting points this season with a 5-1-1 record ATS closing as underdogs.

Last season, the Seahawks took a step backward by relying too heavily on Russell Wilson's playmaking ability. He was still a big part of this year's success throwing the ball, this year’s offense had most of its success keeping the ball on the ground. Behind four different players (including Wilson) gaining at least 350 rushing yards this season, Seattle led the NFL with an average of 160 rushing yards per game.

Dallas is making a return trip to the playoffs as the top team in the NFC East after winning the division title in 2016. It needed a big second-half run to get it done at 7-1 SU and 6-1-1 ATS. The total went OVER 38.5 points in Sunday’s 36-35 victory against the New York Giants after it stayed UNDER in four of its previous six games. The Cowboys are 9-6-1 ATS overall with a 5-2-1 record covering the number at home. They were 3-3-1 ATS closing as favorites this season.

Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott were rookies with Dallas in the 2016 division title run, but the team made an early exit from the playoffs with a loss in the Divisional Round as the top seed in the NFC. Both players had a significant impact in this season's success, especially Elliott as the leading rusher in the league with 1,434 total yards. Dallas also got a solid effort from a defense that was tied for sixth in points allowed (20.3).

Seattle at Dallas Prediction 01/05/2019

This should be a good game right through the fourth quarter between two teams that match up extremely well against one another. I anticipate a low scoring game that should probably stay UNDER the current 43-point line with each defense helping to dictate the pace of play.

When it comes to my ‘best bet’ for Saturday night, I will take Seattle on the road (SU and ATS). Past postseason failures will continue to haunt the Cowboys.
