Seattle at Dallas Game Overview

The Seahawks’ string of five straight appearances in the postseason is in serious jeopardy following back-to-back losses to Jacksonville on the road and to the rival Los Angeles Rams at home last Sunday. The biggest concern is the way this team was beatdown by the Rams in a 42-7 loss as a slight one-point favorite. The Seahawks dropped to 8-6 straight-up with a 5-8-1 record against the spread. The total has gone OVER in their last two games.

Russell Wilson has been Seattle’s offense this season with a team-high 521 rushing yards to go along with his 3,669 passing yards and 30 passing touchdowns. Last week against the Rams was not one of his finer moments in what could be considered a MVP-caliber season with just 142 yards passing and one touchdown throw while completing 14 of his 30 passing attempts. The biggest issue with the Seahawks is a battered defense that has allowed a combined 72 points in its last two games.

The Cowboys extended their current SU winning streak to three games with last Sunday night’s 20-17 victory against Oakland as three-point road favorites. The PUSH in that game moved their record ATS to 7-6-1. With the total staying UNDER 46 points against the Raiders, it has stayed UNDER in six of their last seven outings. Dallas returns home with a 3-4 record ATS in seven previous home games this year; however it has gone 6-3-1 ATS when closing as a favorite.

The return of All-Pro running back Ezekiel Elliott from a six-game league suspension should provide a boost to a rushing offense that is currently ranked third in the NFL with 136.6 yards per game. It could also help out second-year quarterback Dak Prescott, who has really struggled with consistency from one week to the next in his absence. Over Prescott’s last six games, he has thrown for just five touchdowns against seven interceptions.

The Seahawks are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five road games, but they fall to 2-6 ATS in their last eight games played in Week 16. The total has stayed UNDER in four of their last five games played on the road.

The Cowboys have gone 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games following a SU win, but they are just 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team with a SU winning record. The total has stayed UNDER in their last four games coming off a SU win.

Head-to-head in this NFC tilt, the underdog has covered ATS in the last four meetings and the total has stayed UNDER in four of the last five meetings in Dallas.

Seattle at Dallas Free Game Prediction

Both of these teams need a win on Sunday to stay in the NFC playoff race, but right now Dallas is in a much better position to get one given its play over last three weeks as compared to Seattle’s form in its last two games. The Seahawks are just too banged up on defense to slow the Cowboys down, especially with Elliott back in the lineup so I am going to lay the points and take the home team both SU and ATS.
