Philadelphia at Dallas Game Overview

The Eagles have won their last seven games straight-up while going a highly profitable 6-1 against the spread making them a very popular pick for the betting consensus. The early consensus numbers this week heavily favor Philadelphia to keep things rolling as a favorite on the road. It is 3-1 ATS on the road and 5-1 ATS this season when giving points. A play on the total line in Eagles’ games has also been profitable with the total going OVER in six of their first nine games.

Coming off a bye, this should be a great test for a team that has the ability to basically lockup the division title before Thanksgiving. There has been no letdown so far behind an offense that is fourth in the league in yards gained (377.0) and second in points scored (31.4). Defensively, Philly is holding teams to 19.9 points per game and it is ranked first in the NFL against the run. You get the feeling that the only way this team loses a game from here on in is by beating itself.

Push has come to shove for the Cowboys on Sunday night after falling to 5-4 (SU and ATS) with last Sunday’s 27-7 loss to Atlanta as three-point road underdogs. The total has stayed UNDER in their last two games after it had gone OVER in five of their previous six outings. Dallas is 2-2 ATS at home this year with the total evenly split as well at 2-2. This is just the second time this season it comes into a game as an underdog.

One of the main reasons why the Cowboys are getting three points at home is the continued absence of All Pro running back Ezekiel Elliott, who is out of the lineup serving a league suspension. Last week against the Falcons, the Cowboys gained 107 yards rushing on 21 attempts. However, the main impact of Elliott’s absence was felt by quarterback Dak Prescott after getting sacked eight times for a loss of 50 yards. He ended the day with 176 passing yards and zero touchdown throws.

While anything can happen in a bitter division rivalry, Philadelphia knows that there is blood in the water as it goes in for the kill. It is never smart to go against a hot team and it would be tough to find a NFL team hotter than the Eagles right now across every phase of the game. Throw in the revenge factor for the Cowboys’ SU edge in this series over the past few seasons and it sets up the perfect opportunity to lay the three points and ride Philly to another win both SU and ATS.
