Tampa Bay lost their 5th game in a row in a 30-10 trouncing at the hands of New Orleans on Sunday. QB Jameis Winston was 7-13 for 67 yards before re-injuring his shoulder and leaving the game. He is slated to miss the next 2 games to rest the shoulder. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick was 8-15 for 68 yards and a TD. Both QBs were sacked twice. WR Mike Evans has been suspended 1 game for his actions in this game but he is appealing. The defense gave up 256 passing yards and 151 rushing yards. They recovered 2 fumbles and had a sack.

Injury Report

Jets: New York has a lengthy list of injured players, but many of them practiced in full on Thursday and without any setbacks should be good to go on Sunday. RB Matt Forte looks to be very iffy to play against the Bucs with a knee injury. DE Muhammad Wilkerson didn’t practice on Thursday, but missing practices throughout the week and then playing has been the norm for him this season.

Buccaneers: Tampa Bay will be without QB Jameis Winston who has been ruled out with a shoulder injury and top WR Mike Evans who has been suspended. They may also be without both of their starting tackles with LT Donovan Smith and RT Demar Dotson both missing practices this week. There is some good news on the injury front though with CB Brent Grimes likely to return after missing last week.

Public Money Consensus

The public is playing the Jets with 61% backing them on the point spread line. The total betting has been mixed although some of the sharper action appears to be coming in on the OVER.

Jets at Buccaneers Prediction ATS

The NY Jets passing offense hasn’t been racking up the yards with QB Josh McCown at the helm ranking a lowly 25th in the league, but he has been accurate. McCown has completed 70.5 percent of his pass attempts this season and has a respectable 13 TD to 7 INT ratio. He should have some success facing the porous secondary of the Bucs who rank in the bottom 10 in many pass defense categories this season. Tampa Bay comes into this game missing their top two offensive players and may be missing both starting offensive tackles. The Jets defense will be arguably the weakest unit that the Bucs have faced in over a month, but I don’t think with key personnel losses that they’ll be able to capitalize on it.
