The Giants only have two straight-up wins this season against eight losses, but both have come as double-digit underdogs. They improved to 4-6 against the spread this season with Sunday’s 12-9 grinder against Kansas City in overtime as 10-point home underdogs. The total stayed way UNDER the closing 44.5-point line in that game and it has stayed UNDER in three of New York’s last five contests. The Giants head back on the road this Thursday with 3-2 record ATS in five previous road games this season.

While it was anything but pretty, Eli Manning got some of his critics off his back by completing 19-of-35 passes against the Chiefs for 205 yards. While he failed to throw a touchdown pass, he did not throw any interceptions. Credit the play of New York’s defense for the win after holding Kansas City to just three field goals. The Giants are 30th in the league in scoring with an average of 16.2 points per game and they move to 22nd on defense in points allowed (24.7).

Washington saw its slim playoff hopes just about fade away in Sunday’s highly disappointing 34-31 overtime loss to New Orleans in a game it led by 15 points late in the fourth quarter. The Redskins managed to cover as 9.5-point road underdogs and they are now 4-6 both SU and ATS on the year. The total went OVER 52.5 points against the Saints and it has gone OVER in six of their last seven games. Washington is 1-4 ATS at home this season.

Kirk Cousins remains one of the better starting quarterbacks in the NFL running an offense that is ranked 11th in points (23.8) and seventh in passing yards. However under head coach Jay Gruden, who would have to be considered firmly on the hot seat in Washington, the Redskins continue to find ways to lose games they should actually win. It does not help that this remains one of the most beat up teams in the league with more and more injuries mounting every week.

New York Giants at Washington Redskins Prediction Nov/23/2017

Both of these teams are now watching things completely slip away with their recent play. The Giants do have some momentum with last week’s upset at home, but they remain one of the most inconsistent teams from week to week. The Redskins are fading fast with just one SU win in their last five games, but they have still done a pretty good job of covering against the teams they are favored to beat.

The extra half point on the current touchdown spread remains a big concern, so while I have Washington finding a way to get past the Giants this Thursday night SU, I am taking those 7.5 points with a ‘best bet’ pick that New York covers.
