Indianapolis at Tennessee Game Overview

The Colts will be going for their third straight-up victory in four games this Monday night following a 0-2 start. They beat San Francisco 26-23 in overtime last Sunday as slight 1.5-point home favorites to improve to 3-2 against the spread. The total went OVER the closing 44-point in that win and it has now gone OVER in their last three games. Indianapolis is 0-2 both SU and ATS this season on the road with losses to the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle.

Andrew Luck has been ruled out for Monday night giving Jacoby Brissett at least one more chance to show what he can do with this offense. The second-year quarterback has been a mixed bag in place of Luck with 997 yards passing and two touchdown throws to go along with 83 yards rushing and three touchdowns on the ground. The Colts are ranked 22nd in the NFL in scoring with 19.4 points per game and they fall to 25th in total yards gained.

Tennessee started the season 2-1 both SU and ATS, but back-to-back losses on the road to Houston and Miami have added a level of urgency to stop the bleeding this Monday night at home. After getting completely embarrassed in a 57-14 loss to the Texans as 2.5-point favorites, the Titans came up short last Sunday to the Dolphins in a 16-10 loss as one-point underdogs. The total stayed UNDER 41 points in that loss after going OVER in their previous three games.

They may have to get the job done against the Colts without the services of quarterback Marcus Mariota, who missed last week’s start with a bad hamstring. Matt Cassel got the call against Miami last week and he completed 21 of his 32 passing attempts for 141 yards and one score. Tennessee only managed to add another 69 yards on the ground to post 188 yards of total offense when you factor in six quarterback sacks. Overall, this offense is averaging 22 points per game and it is ranked 24th in the league in total yards.

Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans Free Betting Pick

We already know which quarterback will be running the Colts’ offense and, even if Mariota is a go under center for Tennessee, this matchup has the makings of turning into a low-scoring grinder that keeps both teams well below the 20-point mark on the scoreboard. The actual betting line for the total will be influenced by Mariota’s playing status, but I am still going with the UNDER on an expected line of 40 points.
