Green Bay overwhelmed Chicago 35-14 last Thursday. Dallas was surprised 35-30 at home by the Rams last Sunday.

Despite Dallas being run over for 168 yards last week on the ground, the Packers will look to attack a secondary that is still trying to jell. QB Aaron Rodgers has a variety of targets to throw to and may even have WR Davante Adams (head, check status) back. Rodgers rarely locks on to one receiver and will look for the best matchup at all times. Green Bay has been dealing with injuries on their o-line but Dallas hasn’t been able to generate much pass rush in 2017 (1 last week). If Rodgers has time to throw, he’ll make this defense pay. RB Ty Montgomery left last week’s game with an injury but is probable for this encounter. The Packers actually had 24 rushing attempts against the Bears but that was mainly because they had built a lead. Look for Rodgers to throw a lot in this one.

Dallas seems to have gotten their running game back in order after a sluggish start to the season. However, Green Bay’s run defense has been better than expected and they know the key to beating the Cowboys is to keep the ground game in check. Look for them to focus on RB Ezekiel Elliott as he is the key to the offense. His ability to move the chains opens up the offense and makes life simpler for QB Dak Prescott. The young QB threw 3 TD passes last week but was only 20-36. The Packers’ pass rush has been decent to start the year and they are getting contributions from players other than LB Clay Matthews. Dallas surrendered 2 sacks last week and their o-line is better known for their run blocking as opposed to their pass blocking.

<p>
In this weekends NFL matchup between Green Bay and Dallas have the public leaning slightly to the Pac’s getting the 2 points with 66%. The over under bettors are convinced in this game that it will go north of the posted total line of 52 with over 77% on board.

Green Bay Packers at Dallas Cowboys Week 5 ATS Prediction

This is a big game for both clubs. The Cowboys were expected to have an easy time of it in their division but they are trailing the Eagles in the standings. The Packers look like they have real competition from the Lions and Vikings. Green Bay won a thrilling 34-31 game over Dallas in the divisional round of the playoffs last year thanks to the right arm of Rodgers. I don’t think a lot has changed between these two teams and believe Rodgers can get it done again. The o-line and running game are concerns but the lack of a pass rush is hurting Dallas this year, more so than in 2016. I look for a big road cover by Green Bay this Sunday.
