Denver at Arizona Game Overview

Denver’s fast 2-0 start out of the gate straight-up has become a distant memory following four losses in a row. At least the Broncos covered in Sunday’s 23-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams as seven-point home underdogs to move to 1-4-1 against the spread. The total stayed UNDER 50 points in that loss, and it has stayed UNDER in four of their last five games. The Broncos are 0-2 SU and ATS in their first two road games this season.

The Broncos had their chances to take down the NFL’s last undefeated team, but in the end, they could not come up with the plays to get it done. A late rally fell short after trailing by 10 points heading into the fourth quarter when Denver could not recover an onside kick in the closing minutes of play. Case Keenum threw for 322 yards and two scores, but the Broncos’ defense had no answer for stopping the Rams’ Todd Gurley, who rushed for 208 yards and two scores.

Arizona posted its first win of the season in Week 5 with a 28-18 victory on the road against San Francisco as a three-point underdog, but it quickly returned to its losing ways on Sunday in a 27-17 loss to Minnesota as a 10-point road underdog. The Cardinals are now 1-5 SU with a 3-2-1 record ATS. The total has gone OVER in their last two games after staying UNDER in their first three contests.

Rookie quarterback Josh Rosen completed 21 of his 31 passing attempts against Minnesota for 240 yards, but he could not get the Cardinals into the end zone through the air. David Johnson led the ground game with 55 yards and a score on 18 carries as part of Arizona’s 61 total rushing yards in that game. Through the first six weeks of the season, this team is ranked near the bottom of the league in both total yards gained (220.5) and points scored (13.7).

Denver at Arizona Prediction 10/18/2018

Somebody has to win this game unless we get another overtime tie. My lean would be towards Denver even though each team has a number of reasons for why it can lose on Thursday night. Rosen may be the quarterback of the future in Arizona, but I am banking on Keenum playing well enough under center for Denver to bring his team’s four-game SU slide to an end on Thursday night.

Lay the point and half and go with Denver both SU and ATS in a game that will most likely stay UNDER the current 46-point total line.
