Atlanta at New Orleans Game Overview

The Falcons' season may have hinged on Sunday's matchup against Dallas, and they came up just short in a 22-19 last-second loss as 3.5-point home favorites. This followed a very disappointing 28-16 defeat in Cleveland the week before as 5.5-point favorites on the road. Atlanta is just 2-6 against the spread over its last eight games, and the total has stayed UNDER in three of its previous four contests.

Matt Ryan has been one of the more prolific passers in the league this season with 3,306 total yards through the air in his first 10 games. The 73 completions to Julio Jones have accounted for 1,158 of those yards. Tevin Coleman leads the team in rushing with 500 yards on 114 carries, but the Falcons are well down the list in average rushing yards per game (88.8). They have also had their issues on the other side of the ball with a points-allowed average of 27.6.

After putting up 51 points on the road against Cincinnati, the Saints put on another scoring clinic this Sunday at home in a 48-7 rout of Philadelphia as seven-point favorites. Their current SU winning streak reached nine games, and they have covered the spread in their last eight contests. The last time New Orleans failed to score at least 30 points was in a tight 24-23 road victory against Baltimore on Oct. 21 as a slight 2.5-point underdog.

Behind veteran quarterback Drew Brees, the Saints have too many weapons on offense for most defenses to contain. Whether it is Alvin Kamara or Mark Ingram at running back or Michael Thomas as the top target in the passing game, the Saints have been able to almost score at will during the latter part of this very impressive winning streak. New Orleans is also playing at a very high level on defense after allowing a combined 21 points in its last two games.

Atlanta at New Orleans Prediction 11/22/2018

This game is more about how many points will New Orleans score this week given the current run this offense has been on. Atlanta would have probably been more competitive in this matchup if it would have found a way to win last week, but that crushing loss to Dallas pretty much ended any postseason plans.

My first instinct is to go with the OVER in what should be a very high scoring game, but I am going to keep riding the hottest betting team in the NFL by taking the Saints both SU and ATS.
