Texas Christian Horned Frogs at Texas Longhorns Frogs Overview

Texas Christian Horned Frogs

The Horned Frogs come in off a 40-28 loss against #4-ranked Ohio State where national audiences were able to see TCU come in under a 12.5-point line in a primetime spot. Though TCU lost the contest, they were able to make a positive impression on many viewers. The Frogs were able to generate several big plays against a vaunted Ohio State defense. The game was closer than the score-line indicated as mistakes by the offense led to two Buckeyes defensive touchdowns which were the ultimate difference maker in the final analysis.

Texas Longhorns

The Longhorns entered the 2018 season with a whole lot of hype in their own right. Many had tapped Bevo on the head as the team that could knock their arch-rival Oklahoma off the perch as the reigning Big 12 Champion. However, Texas started off their season with a nasty blemish when it fell as a 12-point dog on the road at Maryland. Since then, Texas would respond with a 28-21 victory against Tulsa and a spanking of USC at home last Saturday when they capsized the Men of Troy, 37-14 in Austin.

Reasons To Back Texas

Texas is flying high after its dominant showing against the Trojans last week. Despite the impressive result, the Horns will enter this game with a chip on its shoulder as they will feel like they have been shown a lack of respect in this market. While Texas may have the loss against Maryland, this is their first Big 12 test and an opportunity for them to prove the verity in some pundit's lofty claims regarding their conference outlook. They have the luxury of playing this one at home while doing so.

Reasons To Avoid Texas Christian University

Though TCU looked like a quality team on national television, they as mentioned made several mistakes that cost them the game. The two turnovers cost TCU 14 points, and they will be facing a Texas defense that is in very regards similar in style to Ohio State. The Texas defense has caused five fumbles in the last two games, sadly none of them bounced into their hands. The fact remains against USC we saw this team block a field goal and run it back from a scoop and score. TCU could easily find itself a similar predicament, this week.

Texas Christian at Texas Prediction 09/22/2018

For the second week in a row, TCU will have to whether the onslaught of a physical and opportunistic defense. If last week served as an indication of how the Frogs will fare against teams that approach them in such a regard, this one has Texas written all over it. We'll take the Hook-Ems outright.
