Colorado Buffalos at Michigan Wolverines Game Overview

<p>
The Buffalos kicked off their 2016 campaign with style, as they mangled arch-rival Colorado State. In 2015, the Buffalos finished 4-9 wrapping up their campaign with a hideous five game losing streak. Colorado changed the tide in one foul swoop as the Buffalos would win 44-7 as just a touchdown favorite. CU would follow up this result with a 56-7 dismantling of Idaho State. CU’s defense is comprised of many experienced starters and upper classmen. Progress and maturity have been charted through their recent efforts. Senior quarterback Sefo Liufau has many games under his belt against big-time opponents. Liufau could easily go for 500 yards through the air when he is unabated.

Michigan has re-emerged on the national landscape, dazzling audiences in the process. In retrospect, the Wolverines have not beaten any of consequence yet in 2016. The victims include a jet-lagged Hawaii team and UCF who finished 0-12 in 2015. Needless to say, Colorado is a huge step in competition as the Wolverines are not dealing with an undefeated Power Five opponent.

Colorado Buffalos at Michigan Wolverines Free Pick

63% of the public have taken the Wolverines against the spread and overall we have this seen market move 1.5 points since the open. As long as Michigan continues to win games and do so according to expectations, the premiums will continue to be assessed. The Wolverines have a propensity for spotting more points than necessary, even if they have safely covered in the first two games of the season. Colorado’s body of work speaks for itself. The Buffalos are not the same 4-9 team we have seen last year and if at nothing else they are certainly more of a threat to Michigan than Hawaii and UCF. Yet the numbers suggest Colorado is only a couple of touchdowns better than either of the two fallen foes. In 1994, a Colorado quarterback named Kordell Stewart connected with Michael Westbrook on a Hail Mary in the very stadium the Buffs are traveling to this weekend. While the miracle may have been two decades ago, it is certainly a motivational tool for CU. Colorado is not going to enter this contest with any flat feet and perhaps it is Michigan that needs to be weary of who is coming to town.
