The DePaul Blue Demons (0-0) host the 14th ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a non-conference game that will take place at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois at 4 PM ET. Notre Dame are the 9.5-point road favorite with the total sitting at 149.

<p>
This is the opening game for both teams and last season. Notre Dame was a decent 26-10 and DePaul was a not so good 9-23 last campaign.
</p>
<p>
As mentioned Notre Dame is coming off a solid 26-game season where they lost to West Virginia in the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament. Last season’s 3rd team All American Bonzie Colson is back and he averaged a double double (17.8 ppg 10.1 rpg). After him the Fighting Irish lost their top two scorers, but Matt Farrell is back and averaged 14.1 ppg last season. Freshman D.J. Harvey is a four-star recruit for Notre Dame that the team is very high on and he may be a starter right away. The main concern for the Fighting Irish are their big men, as they have a few on the squad, but they are very inexperienced. Last season Notre Dame ranked in the top 100 in the country in both points per game and opponents’ points per game.

<p>
DePaul is coming off their 2nd straight season when they did not reach double digits in wins. Their leading scorer from last season in Eli Cain is back and was one of two players that averaged double figures last season with the other gone. The offense was the main issue for the Blue Demons last season only averaging 68.9 ppg. Justin Roberts is a solid incoming freshman and 6’11” transfer Marin Maric should help, but the offense may struggle again and with the seven players that left they averaged a combined 33.4 ppg last season.
</p>
<p>
Last season Notre Dame ranked 79th in the nation in ppg and 99th in opponents’ ppg and DePaul ranked 279th in ppg and 232nd in opponents’ ppg.
</p>
<p>
These teams have not met since the 2013 season.
</p>
<p>
Last season Notre Dame was 18-11-1 ATS with an O/U record of 15-14-1 and DePaul was 13-18 ATS with an O/U record of 15-16.

Notre Dame vs. DePaul Prediction 11/11/2017

I believe Notre Dame is overvauled here. The public has been backing the Irish with both fists but the line continues to fall. I’m going to follow the smart money here and back the underdog. Look for the Blue Demons to be in this until the end and keep this close enough to get the point spread cover.
