The Wisconsin Badgers will take on the Michigan State Spartans in a Big Ten matchup on Tuesday night. The game will tipoff at 7 p.m., as Wisconsin are home favorites at 53.8 percent. The Big Ten Conference has been pretty competitive this season with Michigan State in third place and Wisconsin in fourth place. The Spartans have gone 10-3 in conference play and are 6-3 on the road this season. For the Badgers, they're 9-4 against the conference and 9-2 at home. Wisconsin is coming off a 61-52 loss to Michigan and dropped one spot down to No. 20 in the AP Top 25. Ethan Happ leads the way for the Badgers with 18.3 ppg, 10.4 rpg, and 4.9 apg. The senior forward also averages 1.3 blkpg and 1 stpg. The loss they suffered against Michigan snapped a six-game winning streak, putting them at 17-7 on the season. They will now take on No. 11 Michigan State for the first time this season.

Spartans in a Tailspin

The Spartans have dropped a couple spots down in the rankings after losing three out of their last four games to Purdue, Indiana, and Illinois. Luckily, they were able to recover in a 79-55 victory over Minnesota. Nick Ward had 22 points, and Matt McQuaid scored a season-high 18, leading Michigan State to a 79-55 win on Saturday. Cassius Winston finished with 11 points, as he leads this Spartans team in scoring with 18.6 ppg and dishes out 7.4 apg. This team is scary when they're hot, but have hit a bit of a rough patch over their past few games. We'll see how much they build off their dominating win over Minnesota and this game against Wisconsin could be precisely the test they need before heading into the tournament.

Badgers Looking to Shake the Spartans

Wisconsin may enter this game as the home favorites, but Michigan State has beaten the Badgers more than any other team they have faced since 1949-50. Through 131 games, Michigan State holds a 74-57 record over Wisconsin, which equals out to a 56.5 winning percentage. The Spartans have won their last five games against the Badgers, with their most recent coming last season in a 63-60 win. Each teams star led the way, as Winston finished with a 17/5/5 stat line and Happ finished with 22 points in the loss.

Michigan St. at Wisconsin Prediction 2/12/19

When we look at how both of these teams have been performing lately, it's tough not to roll with the Badgers in this matchup. Not necessarily scoring a monumental amount of points lately, Wisconsin had just found ways to win close games over their five-game winning streak. Happ will continue to be the focal point of this offense, but winning games doesn't usually come down to one player's performance. Brad Davison has really picked it up lately, averaging 16 ppg over their winning streak. The sophomore guard is averaging 11.1 ppg this season, but the Badgers are dangerous when they play good team defense and can get complimentary scoring outside of Happ. We're taking the Badgers at home in Tuesday's showdown.
