Kansas-Oklahoma State College Basketball Betting Preview

Following a tough stretch of games back a month ago, the Jayhawks are 4-1 both SU and ATS their last five times out after winning at Oklahoma Saturday 78-55. Kansas fell down to the Sooners 7-0 out of the gate but rallied to lead 35-22 at the half. The Jayhawks then allowed Oklahoma to get within 37-32 early in the second half but steamed away from there to the victory and the cover as three-point favorites.

Kansas shot 55 percent from the field Saturday and held the Sooners to just 36 percent shooting. And while the Jayhawks committed 16 turnovers, they forced 24 by Oklahoma.

Last month Kansas lost three in a row to Kansas State, TCU, and Baylor. But those are three pretty good teams. Since then, it seems the Jayhawks have regained their balance, with victories over Kentucky, K State, and Texas.

At 8-4 in conference play, Kansas sits in third place in the Big 12, just a half-game out of first place. And at 20-5 overall, the defending national champions remain right in the running for a top seed in the upcoming NCAA tournament.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys ride a five-game winning streak into Tuesday night after “upsetting” Iowa State in Ames Saturday 64-56. Oklahoma State led for a good part of the first half but trailed 32-26 into the locker room. OSU battled back to finally take the lead for good with five minutes left and iced the game from the line.

Also, in winning outright as seven-point underdogs, the Cowboys cashed in at +230 on the money line.

Oklahoma State shot 48 percent from the floor Saturday and held the Cyclones to just 35 percent shooting.

The Cowboys struggled through a 2-4 stretch back in January, but they're 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS since.

At 7-5 in conference play, OSU sits in a three-way tie for fourth place in the Big 12, only a game and a half out of first place. And at 16-9 overall, the Cowboys, barring a collapse, look like good bets to make the Big Dance after missing out last season.

On the injury front, Oklahoma State senior G Avery Anderson (11 points, four rebounds, three assists per game this season) is still out with a bad wrist.

Kansas-Oklahoma State Recent History

The Jayhawks are 9-1 SU and 7-3 ATS over the last ten meetings with the Cowboys. In the first meeting between these teams this season, back on New Year's Eve, Kansas trailed Oklahoma State in Lawrence 45-30 at the half, then rallied to win 69-67 on a bucket with six seconds left.

But the Cowboys covered easily as 10-point dogs, and that's what's really important.

Also, that game sneaked under a total of 138,
Kansas Jayhawks at Oklahoma State Cowboys Pick ATS 2/14/23

Kansas is looking better as of late like it’s gearing up for a run through March. Also, playing on the road means the spread’s more amenable. Oklahoma State, meanwhile, owns five straight wins, but several were close and came against some iffy competition. Also, the Cowboys can have some problems throwing the ball in the hole. We like the Jayhawks here, minus the short spread.
