Toronto Raptors at Philadelphia 76ers Overview

Toronto Raptors

Game Five was simply a display of excellence by the Raptors as they controlled the game in multiple phases. Toronto led by as much as 40 points as they held to the Sixers to a post-season low of 89 points. The most notable advantage for Toronto was found on the fast break as they generated 33 points to Philadelphia compiling just eight.

Philadelphia 76ers

The 76ers were beaten at their own game as the Raptors were the more physical team in Game Five. On the boards, the Sixers were edged out 42-37 in total rebounds. This stifled Philadelphia without question as they cemented a reputation as a top rebounding team in the NBA as they ranked in the top-four in both total rebounds for (47.8 RPG) and against (43.5 RPG). Another pivotal storyline was the Sixers inability to drop a trey. Philadelphia went just 25% from three-point range in Game Four.

Reasons To Back Toronto

Raptors Forward Kawhi Leonard has been a wrecking machine throughout this series as the Sixers have not figured out how to stop him. Leonard has averaged nearly 35 points per game and the presence of fellow frontcourt running mater, Pasqual Siakam only makes the Toronto offense that much more potent. The New Mexico State alum contributed 25 points in Game Five to offer the Sixers another riddle that they will likely not be able to solve.

Reasons To Avoid Philadelphia

The Sixers are coming into this contest off their worst performance in the post-season. There was a lot of doubt surrounding this team after Game One against the Nets, but that truly was just an off night. The same cannot be said for Game Five as Toronto outright crushed the Sixers and likely cast a fatal blow to their morale. The Sixers have broken the 100-point mark only once this series, and without their offense to back them up, Philadelphia is a sitting duck. The Sixers can easily come into this game flat with all but the white flag flying.

Raptors at 76ers Prediction 05/09/2019

This series is all but wrapped up. Toronto has demonstrated that it can nullify Philadelphia’s offense while the Sixers have had no rebuttal. The Raptors will easily win this one by more than a basket and punch their ticket to the Eastern Conference Finals to face off with Milwaukee.
