Toronto: Marcus Stroman (6-2, 3.25 ERA)
Seattle: Ariel Miranda (6-2, 3.74 ERA)

Marcus Stroman goes for the Blue Jays and in his last start he gave up two earned runs in in six innings in a 3-2 win over the New York Yankees. Toronto has won his last six starts where he has given up 10 earned runs in 34 innings of work. In that span he got his first career start against the Mariners and went six innings and gave up two earned runs in a 7-2 Blue Jays win. Toronto has won four of his last five road starts and in an interesting trend they have won eight of his last nine Saturday starts. The Blue Jays’ lineup has really helped Stroman out, as in winning his last six starts they have totaled 48 runs.

Ariel Miranda gets the call for the Mariners tonight and he had a great last start throwing a complete game only giving up one run on four hits in a 7-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. The Blue Jays have won his last three starts where he has totaled 19 innings and given up five earned runs. Miranda opposed Stroman earlier this season in the Seattle loss and he took a no decision after only giving up one run on three hits in five innings. The Mariners have won six of his last eight starts overall and they have won seven of his last nine home starts. Miranda has not given up more than two earned runs in any of his last five starts.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Seattle Mariners Prediction

The Blue Jays have lost three of their last four games and they are in the basement of the AL East 7.5 games out of first place. Their offense has been slumping as of late totaling 16 runs in their last five games. The Mariners have been one of the hottest teams in the Majors in the last couple of weeks, as they have won six of their last seven games and10 of their last 12. With their win over the Blue Jays last night they moved to .500 on the season. However, while they are in 2nd place in the AL West they are still 12 games back of the Houston Astros, who have the best record in baseball. Stroman has been pretty solid in his last several starts and he has really been backed by solid run support. However, that will not be the case in this game. Miranda will keep the Toronto bats cool and have a good outing and lead the hot Mariners to another win.
