Texas Rangers vs. New York Mets Prediction

The Rangers have lost two of their last three games and they are 18 games out of first place in the AL West. However, all is not lost for them and even five games under .500 they are only four games out of the 2nd NL Wild Card. The Mets are coming off being swept in a three-game home series against the L.A. Dodgers and they have lost four in a row overall. They are out of the playoff race and sit in 4th place in the NL East. In getting swept by the Dodgers in their last series the Mets were shut out twice and scored four runs in the other loss. Cashner has been solid as of late and he will have a good outing facing a struggling New York lineup. On the other side of the coin Flexen will not have a good outing, like his other two this season, and will exit early once again. The Rangers will take this Game 1 and send the reeling Mets to their 5th loss in a row.
