Seattle Mariners vs. Kansas City Royals Prediction for August 5/2017

The Mariners had lost two in a row before beating the Royals yesterday. They are well out of the AL West race, but only 1.5 games out of the 2nd Wild Card spot, which the Royals have. Seattle only totaled five runs in losing two games in a row before scoring five in yesterday’s win. The Royals have lost four of their last five games and they are in 2nd place in the AL Central 3.5 games out of first place and in the Wild Card they have a ½ game lead over the Rays and a 1.5 lead over the Mariners. Kansas City has only scored 11 runs in their last five games with six of them coming in the lone win in that span. Hernandez has not been sharp giving up four earned runs in each of his last two starts. The Mariners have won those games giving King Felix solid run support, but he will not get that in this game. Duffy has been great in his last two starts and he will have another good one tonight and get some help from the lineup. The Royals will win this game and hold onto the 2nd Wild Card.
