<p>
Ariel Miranda goes for the Mariners in this series finale and in his last start he gave up three earned runs in six innings and struck out 10 in a 7-5 loss to the New York Mets. The Mariners had won his previous two starts where he had given up seven earned runs in 10 innings while given 15 runs of support. Miranda’s only career start against the Rangers came last season when he took a no decision giving up three earned runs on only three hits in six innings. Seattle has won four of his last five road starts, but they have lost his last four starts after a Quality Start in his previous outing.

Andrew Cashner gets the nod for the Rangers and in his last start he had a good one only giving up one earned run in seven innings in an 8-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles. The Rangers have won three of his last four starts including his last two where he has given up four earned runs in 13 innings. Previous to Cashner’s last start he had given up three earned runs in two straight outings. Cashner’s first start of the season was against the Mariners giving up three earned runs in five innings in a Texas loss and faced them in the beginning of May going six innings and only giving up one earned run in a loss. In six career appearances, including five starts, against the Mariners he is 0-3 with an ERA of 3.58. Texas has won four of Cashner’s last five starts, but they have lost five of his last six starts against teams from the AL West.

Seattle Mariners vs. Texas Rangers Prediction

The Mariners are hot winners of four in a row and they have won the first two games of this series and go for the sweep tonight. This season they have won eight of their 11 games against the Rangers. Seattle has totaled 26 runs in their four-game win streak. They are well out of the AL West race 15 games back of the Houston Astros, but only 1.5 games out of the Wild Card. While the Mariners have won four straight the Rangers have dropped four in a row where they have been outscored 28-17. They are 5.5 games out of the AL Wild Card. Miranda has been decent in his last few starts, but something tells me the Rangers will get to him in this game. On the other side of the coin Cashner will have a good home outing and keep the Mariners’ lineup in check. Texas will win this game andavoid the sweep snapping Seattle’s four-game winning streak.
