The Giants grabbed the first game of this three-game NL West rivalry series at Oracle Park Friday night and shoot for the series victory Saturday night. Clay Kershaw comes off the injured list to make his first start in a month for Los Angeles here against fellow lefty Sam Long for San Francisco, probably in an “opener” role.

Which way are we going with our free baseball betting pick?

MLB Betting Odds

Saturday’s baseball betting lines opened Los Angeles and Kershaw at around -160 over San Francisco and Long, with an over/under of 8.5 runs. Early betting action then dipped that total to eight.

The Dodgers could also be found “getting” around +100 giving the run and a half on the run line.

Dodgers-Giants MLB Betting Preview

San Francisco grabbed the opener of this series Friday night 7-2. The Giants scored three runs in four innings against Los Angeles starter Walker Buehler, then put the game away with three more in the bottom of the fifth. San Francisco won as a +150 home dog against Buehler and the game pushed a total of nine runs when Giants OF Ruf hit a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth.

With Friday’s win San Francisco has now alternated victories and losses over its last eight games.

With Friday’s loss the Dodgers are now 2-4 over their last six games.

At 37-21 overall Los Angeles leads the NL West by one game over second-place San Diego.

At 31-26 overall the Giants trail the Dodgers by 5.5 games in the divisional race but they’re also tied with Atlanta for the third and final NL wild-card spot.

This series is the second meeting between these rivals this season, after the Dodgers swept two games from San Francisco in LA back in May.

Saturday's Pitching Match-Up

<a class="advblue" href="https://www.sportsbettingstats.com/mlb/pitcherlog/401096" title="Sam Long Pitching Game Logs">Long is 0/3 on quality starts this season, used as an opener, along with eight appearances in relief. Tuesday he pitched the last three innings of a 5-3 San Francisco loss to Colorado, allowing no runs and no hits. And over his last three appearances he’s tossed six scoreless innings, allowing just one hit, with three walks and three strikeouts.

The Giants are 2-1 when Long starts this season, although he doesn’t have too much to do with that.

Over three career appearances against the Dodgers, including a poor outing one month ago, Long allowed five runs - four earned - and six hits through 3 1/3 innings.

<a class="advblue" href="https://www.sportsbettingstats.com/mlb/pitcherlog/39783" title="Clayton Kershaw Pitching Game Stats">Kershaw is 3/5 on quality starts this year. His last time out, back on May 7, he held the Cubs scoreless on five hits through seven innings, although with only two strikeouts, in a 7-0 Los Angeles win. He then did time on the DL dealing with a sore back.

The Dodgers are 4-1 with Kershaw this season and could be 5-0, based on his performances. Also, all four of LA’s wins with Kershaw have come by at least three runs.

In his only start against San Francisco last year Kershaw got touched for five runs and seven hits through six frames of a 5-4 Dodgers loss.

Splits With the Sticks

Los Angeles is batting .246 against left-handed pitching this season, with a .326 team OBP and a .407 team slugging percentage.

San Francisco is slashing .243/.323/.429 against left-handed pitching.

The Bullpens

The Dodgers bullpen owns a 3.58 ERA this season, along with a 1.15 WHIP.

The Giants pen owns a 4.33 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP.
Dodgers at Giants Prediction 6/11/22

We give Los Angeles the check-mark in the pitching match-up, Kershaw and his bullpen against basically San Francisco’s relief corps. We also like the bounce-back factor with the Dodgers, after losing Friday night’s game. Finally, in knowing the visitors will bat nine times we’ll play LA against the run line.
