And over his last four starts, he's held opponents to six runs and 17 hits through 21 2/3 innings.

And over his last three starts, he's held foes to six runs and 16 hits through 20 1/3 innings.

Houston is 14-8 with Valdez this season, and that's probably three games worse than they should be.

Over four career starts against the White Sox, three last year and one earlier this season, Valdez allowed 13 earned runs and 28 hits through 23 2/3 innings. The Astros won three of those four games.

Astros at White Sox Betting Predictions 8/17/22

This pitching match-up is darn near a push because the White Sox have been hitting Valdez over recent meetings. And while Houston owns the edge in the bullpen comparison, we gotta give Chicago the edge in the splits with the sticks. So from what we can tell, the line on this game should be closer to a pick 'em'em. Also, the White Sox are hot at a good time, while the Astros are kind of treading water over the last couple of weeks. So we like the value with Chicago at the underdog price.
