<p>
In their last games: The Orioles beat the L.A. Angels 4-2 and the Rays lost to the Boston Red Sox 4-0. Baltimore scored four runs on 12 hits and gave up just two runs on five hits in their win over the Angels to grab their fourth victory in their last five games. The Rays gave up four runs on eight hits and did not score any runs on four hits in their loss to the Red Sox. The lack of offense has been a problem all season and lately scoring more than two runs in three of their last ten matches.
</p>
<p>
The Orioles ended the first half well winning four of their last five games, including their last two, and they lead the AL East with a two game lead over the Red Sox and Blue Jays. Baltimore ranks 7th in the Majors in runs scored and 16th in team ERA.
</p>
<p>
The Rays had to be happy that the first half was over, as they limped into the break losing six in a row and 10 of their last 11 games. They are in the basement of the AL East 17.5 games back of Baltimore. Tampa Bay has struggled at the plate and on the hill ranking 26th in runs scored and 24th in team ERA.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Tampa Bay Rays Prediction 7/15

The Birds’ Yovani Gallardo has been having an off year and his numbers on the road are extremely weak. That said, he has held Tampa Bay to three or fewer runs in four lifetime starts and the current roster to a combined batting average of .203 in 69 at bats. It hasn’t been profitable backing the Rays with Archer on the mound and certainly playing them as a favorite wouldn’t be prudent. He has however, been solid for the most part at home bringing a 2.70 home ERA into this game.
