The New York Yankees come into this game as the hottest team in baseball, led by the top-scoring offense in the MLB. In today's matchup, look for the Yankees to keep things rolling, as Nestor Cortes should put up another strong start. To start the year, Toronto's offense has yet to perform up to expectations, ranking 20th in runs scored. Look for the Yankees to win and cover the run line.

Between the two teams, Los Angeles has the advantage on offense, as they rank 10th in runs cored vs right-handed pitching. This includes ranking 10th in batting average vs righties. On the other side, Boston figures to struggle against Noah Syndergaard. Look for LA to pick up the win.

Look for Mariners to pick up the win in this American League matchup, as Seattle's offense has been strong against right-handed pitching, ranking 7th in runs scored per at bat. On the other side, Houston is ranked 26th when facing lefties.

Scherzer owns a pretty clear advantage in the pitching match-up, and we give New York the edge in both the splits with the sticks and the bullpen comparison. So we like the Mets here. But we don't like that price. So in noticing that each of New York's wins with Scherzer this season has come by at least two runs, we'll take a chance and play the Mets against the run line.  

With the moneyline being set at -278 in favor of the Dodgers, there is not enough value to take LA to pick up the win. Instead, look for the Dodgers to cover the run line. Throughout the season, they have a run line record of 13-6, while Detroit is just 7-12. Look for this to take place yet again, the Tigers are one of the worst hitting teams against lefties.

Look for the Rockies to take care of business against the Reds, as Connor Overton is making his first appearance. This will be a tough task for Overton, as the Rockies are the top-hitting team in the league in terms of batting average. In addition, they have the 3rd best slugging percentage against right-handed pitching. I like the Rockies to pick up the win.  

We give Ray the edge in the pitching match-up here. From there, with Seattle down one big bat, we'll call the splits with the sticks and the bullpen comparisons about even. So, on the whole, we see a darn good pitcher getting an underdog price, and we won't pass that up. We're taking the Mariners here for our free MLB pick for Saturday. 

Tonight's matchup between the Mets and Phillies features a strong pitching matchup between Tylor Megill and Aaron Nola. However, each team is also playing well offensively, particularly against right-handed pitching. Look for the Mets to pick up game 1 of this NL East divisional matchup.

 On the season, both offenses have yet to find their groove, each ranking in the bottom half of the league in runs scored per game. So far, the White Sox have a combined batting average of just .213, while the Royals are even worse at .208. Look for this to be a low-scoring game, with Chicago pulling it out late.

We give Wacha the edge in the pitching match-up but Toronto owns edges with the sticks and in the bullpen comparison. Also, the Blue Jays are hot, Boston, not so much. Also, these two teams own very disparate records against RH starters. So we’re betting the Blue Jays Wednesday night.  

We give Bassitt the edge in the pitching match-up here, and while St. Louis might own an edge in the bullpen comparison, New York owns an edge with the sticks. Plus, the Mets are just hot at the moment, riding some Big Mo following Monday night's crazy rally. So we're betting New York here.  

We see this pitching match-up as close; Nola probably owns an edge, but he hasn't exactly been great so far this season. From there, we give Philadelphia an edge with the sticks, but Milwaukee owns an edge in the bullpen comparison. So our feeling is the line on this game should be a lot lower than it is. Which means we like the betting value here with the Brewers at the underdog price.   

We'll call this pitching match-up a wash; both young starters look good, as do both bullpens. From there, we notice that Boston's scored a total of 10 runs over its last five games while Tampa has scored 28 runs its last five times out. And after going 0/7 with runners in scoring position Friday night, we expect a little better luck for the Rays Saturday. So we're betting Tampa here to even this series.        

We give Urias the check-mark in the pitching match-up, and Los Angeles owns edges in the splits with the sticks and the bullpen comparison. So we like LA here. Also, knowing the visiting team will bat nine times, we're going to give the run and a half and play the Dodgers against the run line.  

Scherzer's got the big name but Webb's been great over the last season-plus. So we consider this

pitching match-up very even. From there we call the sticks about a wash, too, but we give San

Francisco the check-mark in the bullpen comparison. Plus, the Giants are catching an underdog

price. We like the baseball betting value with San Francisco here.

We give Houser the edge in the pitching match-up, but St. Louis owns an edge with the sticks. Then, we'll call the bullpen comparison about even. Now, Houser was great against St. Louis last year, but he was also a little lucky. The Cardinals put most balls in play, just not for hits. That kind of thing tends to even out over time. Betting baseball is often about betting the value we find on the dime lines, and we like the value with St. Louis here at the underdog price. 

We give Rasmussen and the Tampa bullpen the edge in the pitching match-up here, and the Rays own an edge in the splits with the sticks. Also, after dropping a series at home to a team they

should have beat, we expect a bounce-back series from Tampa Bay this weekend. So we're betting the Rays at the underdog price Friday night.

We’re calling this pitching match-up a wash but we give San Diego the edge in the bullpen comparison. Also, Atlanta is without two key sticks from last season, including one big left-handed bat. So while we love Morton and have bet on him many times over recent seasons we’re going against him here and taking the Padres.

Ray gets a huge check-mark in the pitching match-up, large enough for us to throw out other handicapping factors. Yes, Seattle is struggling a bit to score runs, but Keuchel might be just the remedy. And the Mariners posted a pretty good record against lefties last year. We like Seattle here at the pick 'em price.
