Liverpool will be feeling upset about how they lost to Manchester United last week, but they will have to accept that result and move on. Prior to that, they were coming off an excellent qualification to the quarter-finals of the Champions League. They will now return home for their next assignment, where they will play host to Watford on Saturday, for the 31st Matchday of the Premier League. Watford is coming off a bad loss and given their appalling record on the road; they are in for a rough ride.

Liverpool (17-4-9) are coming into this match after a frustrating 1-2 loss on the road against Manchester United. They conceded the first goal at the 14th minute, and Marcus Rashford doubled his tally ten minutes later, to give United a two-goal lead. Liverpool was solid throughout the whole match and much better than United. However, they were unable to score a goal and were frustrated by some controversial calls by the referee. They eventually saw their opponents score an own goal at the 66th minute, but Liverpool was unable to take anything from the 1-2 loss. Before that, they were stuck at a goalless draw at home against Porto, in the second leg of their round of 16 tie for the Champions League. They had won the first leg on the road by a massive 5-0, so they didn't need a win to qualify. Liverpool is now sitting at the 4th spot of the Premier League with 60 points, one point behind Tottenham and five points behind Manchester United. They have been solid at home so far in the league (9-0-6), and even more so in their 22 matches in all competitions (13-1-8).

On the other hand, Watford (10-14-6) were engaged in a balanced match against Arsenal last week, but despite being just as good as their opponents, they were destroyed by 0-3 on the road. They saw their opponents take an early lead at the 8th minute of that match, and double that lead at the start of the second. Watford had a great chance to cut their opponents' lead down to one goal at the 62nd minute, but Troy Deeney missed from the penalty spot. Arsenal eventually scored a third goal at the 77th minute, for the final 0-3. Despite the tough loss, it was just the second in the last six matches for Watford (3-2-1). They are now sitting at the 10th spot of the Premier League with 36 points, nine ahead of the relegation zone, and twelve points behind the top-6 spots that lead to the European competitions next season. They might have the 8th best away record in the Premier League so far (4-9-2), but they have been tragic lately. They have failed to win a single away match since November 25th, which means that they are now winless in their last nine, losing eight in the process.
