This is the weekend of Derbies all around the world, and we have one of the most classic ones coming our way from Spain. The last El Clasico of the season will take place on Sunday when Barcelona will play host to Real Madrid. Barcelona has dominated the domestic competitions this season, as they have captured the domestic double. However, Real Madrid has made it through to the Champions League once again this season, where they will have to defend their title against Liverpool.

Barcelona (26-0-8) have steamrolled their opponents in Spanish competitions so far in the season, as they have comfortably won both domestic trophies. Last week they mathematically captured the title when they defeated Deportivo La Coruna by 4-2 on the road and had previously captured the Cup when they destroyed Sevilla by a massive 5-0 in the final. The only black spot in their season was their elimination in the Champions League quarter-finals against Roma, where despite winning by 1-4 at home in the first leg, they suffered a considerable setback in Rome. They will now meet up with Real Madrid in what would have been an enormous match-up had the league been more competitive. However, Barcelona did great throughout the season and kept a safe distance from both Madrid teams. They have been scary at home so far in the league (14-0-2), where they have scored 45 goals while conceding just 8 in the process.

On the other hand, Real Madrid (21-5-8) did an excellent job in the semi-finals of the Champions League, as they managed to hold on to their lead against Bayern Munich. They had won by 2-1 in the first leg in Germany but found themselves down by 1-0 at just the 3rd minute of the second leg in Madrid. Even so, Karim Benzema lit up the score-sheet with two personal goals by the 46th minute. Bayern Munich did pull even at the 63rd minute and was the better team in the pitch, but Real Madrid held on for the 2-2 draw that saw them through to the Champions League final. The Merengues will now look to defend their title as Champions of Europe, as they haven't had much luck in domestic competitions. They are now sitting at the 3rd spot of the La Liga, having already booked a ticket to the Champions League next season. They will look to finish their domestic duties on a positive note here, and they have been really solid against Barcelona lately.

Real Madrid at Barcelona Prediction 05/06/2018

Barcelona destroyed Real Madrid by 3-0 in Madrid earlier in the season, but it was Real Madrid who won both matches in the Spanish Super Cup final back in August. Moreover, Real Madrid has lost just one of their last five games as visitors against Barcelona (3-1-1), with the previous 13 matches in this venue having produced goals from both sides. With both teams having fulfilled their domestic goals, there is a good chance we will see an anxious-free match between the two sides, where goals are likely to fly.
