As far as the Premier League is concerned, Chelsea is still sitting at the 5th spot with 66 points, a spot that grants entrance to the Europa League next season. However, they are five points behind Tottenham and the top-four spots that allow entry to the Champions League instead, so Chelsea will look to win all three remaining matches, hoping that Tottenham and Liverpool stumble somewhere.

On the other hand, Liverpool (20-4-12) have been genuinely sensational this season, as they have created a dominant team. They are coming off a scary match, as Roma hosted them in the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals. Liverpool had won the first leg at home by 2-5, and it seemed like an easy job. However, Roma showed some great fighting spirit in both matches, and never stopped trying. In any case, Liverpool lost by 2-4 in the second leg but moved to the final of the competition. Now back to the Premier League, Liverpool were stuck at a goalless draw at home against Stoke last week, which came after a 2-2 draw on the road against West Brom. Liverpool is now sitting at the 3rd spot of the Premier League with 72 points, but Tottenham are now one point behind, and Chelsea are six points back. A loss here could eventually drop Liverpool out of the top-four spots, so they need to be careful.

The two teams split the points in a 1-1 draw in Liverpool earlier in the season, and that was the sixth draw in the last eight matches between the two sides. Liverpool has had the upper hand in this match-up lately, having not lost to Chelsea since 2014 (2-0-6). Liverpool is also undefeated in their last four trips to this venue (0-2-2), but this time they are coming off a competitive match against Roma. Chelsea have a much more significant motive to win here, as they can make a case for finishing in the 3rd or 4th spot. I will have to go with the Blues here, in hopes that Liverpool will still carry some fatigue from their mid-week match.
