Toronto FC (1-4-0) did great to reach the CONCACAF Champions League Finals against Mexican side Chivas Guadalajara, but it cost them so much. They stumbled in the first leg at home, where they lost by 2-1, and had to go to Mexico looking for at least two goals. Their hurts sunk when they saw Chivas Guadalajara take the lead at just the 19th minute of the second leg, but Toronto FC showed great resolve. They pulled even at the 25th and tied the score of the first match at the 44th with Giovinco. Chivas pushed hard in the second half, but Toronto FC forced the game to the penalty shoot-out, where Osorio and Bradley missed their penalties. In any case, their Champions League journey has taken a toll on their MLS campaign, as they are sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with just 3 points after five matches. They have scored only four goals so far, and have conceded 11. Last week they suffered a massive 1-5 loss on the road against Houston, in a match where they used mostly reserves. Toronto FC hasn't been that good at home either, as they have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their previous five. On the other hand, Chicago (2-3-1) has been struggling with consistency so far in the season, but are coming off a somewhat lucky away win against the Red Bulls. Chicago was pummeled throughout the second half as well, but they were awarded a penalty kick at the 69th minute, and Nikolics didn't fail to convert. The Red Bulls did manage to score at the 81st minute, but Chicago held on to their lead and grabbed a massive win (2-1). However, that was their second win of the season, as they are now sitting at the 7th spot of the Eastern Conference with 7 points, having scored nine goals, against 10 conceded. They have only played a couple of away matches so far in the season, and besides that 2-1 win over the Red Bulls, they had lost by 1-2 against Minnesota. Chicago is known for their weakness to get results on the road, but they do usually score. They will come into this match with numerous injury concerns, as Mihailovic, Polster, Solignac and de Leeuw are still unavailable, while Corrales and Johnson are being listed as doubtful to participate.
