NYCFC (8-3-3) bowed down to the Red Bulls once again, this time in the same round they were eliminated last season. They were hosted by the Red Bulls in the 4th round of the US Open Cup and were destroyed by a harsh 0-4. Their opponents took an early lead at the 2nd minute and took off in the second half. Just like last season, Atlanta United had to play against USL side Charleston Battery. Last season they struggled to win by 2-3, but this season they had a much easier job as they won by 0-3. After struggling a little bit in previous weeks, Atlanta United are now back on track, having lost just once in their last five (3-1-1). They are still sitting at the top of the Eastern Conference with 29 points after 14 matches. They feature the best offense in the Conference with 30 goals and the 3rd best defense with just 18 conceded. Moreover, Atlanta United have the best away record in the Conference (4-1-1), where they have scored just eight goals while conceding 7 in the process. They have only failed to score in the premiere against Houston and have scored multiple goals in three of their last four.
