NFL Betting Lines

The Week 10 NFL betting odds opened Philadelphia at -10.5 for Monday night, with an over/under of right around 44. Early betting action then dipped that total to 43.5.

Commanders-Eagles NFL Betting Preview

Washington just had a three-game winning streak snapped by a 20-17 home loss to Minnesota last Sunday. The Commanders allowed the Vikings to drive the opening possession of the game 78 yards to a touchdown but only trailed 7-3 at the half. Washington then scored the first 14 points of the second half to lead 17-7 early in the fourth quarter. But the Commanders then gave up the last 13 points of the game, the final three on a Minnesota field goal with 12 seconds left, to lose.

However, Washington held on to cover the spread as a 3.5-point home dog, and that's what's really important.

The Commanders only produced 263 yards of offense Sunday, and 49 came on one play. But Washington also only allowed 301 yards of Vikings offense and won the ground battle 137-56.

Two games ago, the Commanders scored the last 10 points of the game to win at Indianapolis 17-16. Three games ago, Washington totally out-played Green Bay in a 23-21 victory. And three weeks ago, they won ugly at Chicago 12-7. Not exactly a Murderers' Row of opponents but three victories nonetheless.

At 4-5 overall, the Commanders only trail San Francisco by a half-game in the battle for the No. 7 spot in the NFC playoff standings.

Philadelphia, meanwhile, is 8-0 for the first time in franchise history, which stretches back to 1933, after winning at Houston last Thursday 29-17. The Eagles spotted the Texans the first seven points of the game but took a 14-14 tie into halftime. Philadelphia then turned a takeaway into the first seven points of the second half, later went up two scores, and held on from there.

However, the Eagles came up one score short of the money at -13.5.

Philadelphia out-gained Houston 360-303 and won the turnover battle 2-1, creating at least a +7 points differential. But the Eagles also gave up 168 yards on the ground, which is a bit much.

Two games ago, Philadelphia beat Pittsburgh 35-13 and covered at -11. Three games ago, the Eagles beat Dallas 26-17 and covered at -6.5. Philly has also led all eight opponents this season, at one time or another, by double digits.

At 8-0 overall, Philadelphia leads the NFC by one game and a tie-breaker over 7-1 Minnesota.

These two teams have played three common opponents so far this season; the Vikings, Dallas, and Detroit. The Eagles played those foes to 3-0 SU, 2-1 ATS, and +81 yards per game, Washington to 0-3 SU, 1-2 ATS, and -16 YPG.

Commanders-Eagles Recent History

Philadelphia owns the upper hand in this rivalry as of late, winning nine of the last 11 meetings outright, going 7-3-1 ATS along the way. Last year the Eagles swept the season series from Washington by scores of 27-17 and 20-16, and they took the first meeting this season back in September 24-8.

Philadelphia out-gained the Commanders over those last three meetings by an average of 153 YPG.
Commanders at Eagles Prediction ATS 11/14/22

Philadelphia ranks 3rd in the League in both total offense and total defense. Half of the Eagles' wins have come by double-digits, and they led the other four games by ten or more, too. Philly owns the much better performance against common opponents this season, and it's out-played Washington three times in a row. Also, the Eagles are probably the healthiest team in the League at the moment. We're giving the points with Philadelphia Monday night.
