Love it or hate it, the Dallas Cowboys are looking like a serious problem in the NFC. The Cowboys moved to 3-1 SU on the season last week by knocking off the undefeated Carolina Panthers. Despite the final score of 36-28, the Cowboys led by three touchdowns in the 4th quarter before garbage time scores from Carolina made the score look more respectable. In reality, it was the 2nd straight week that the Cowboys appeared to be firing on all cylinders on both sides of the football. On Sunday, Dallas will have an opportunity to take a stranglehold of the NFC East as they host the New York Giants as 7 point favorites at AT&T Stadium.

Luckily for those that hate the Cowboys, the Giants will roll into Dallas on the heels of their first win of the season and perhaps some momentum. The Giants upset the Saints last week as 7 point underdogs in a 27-21 final and will be looking for a repeat performance on Sunday. Quarterback Daniel Jones is coming off one of the biggest performances of his career. Jones thrashed the Saints' defense with 402 passing yards with two touchdowns. Furthermore, star running back Saquon Barkley started showing flashes of his pre-ACL injury. Barkley had 126 all-purpose yards with two touchdowns, including a 6-yard walk-off touchdown run in overtime to clinch the victory. Therefore, the Giants may have the weapons needed to attack this Dallas Cowboys defense.

New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys Betting Analysis

Going into the season, the Cowboys' defense was expected to be a liability for 2nd year Head Coach Mike McCarthy. In one of the bigger surprises, the Cowboys' defense has played extremely well under new Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn. Trevon Diggs is becoming a game-changer at the cornerback position. After being named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month in September, Diggs grabbed two picks against Panthers QB Sam Darnold in last week's victory. Those two interceptions are what basically blew the game open in favor of the Cowboys. Most importantly, it's not just Diggs that is playing well, but it is the entire Cowboys' defense that also produced five sacks in last week's victory despite missing several important players.

If the Cowboys' defense continues to play at a high level, Dallas is going to be extremely tough to beat. QB Dak Prescott looks like a league MVP and has one of the best receiving corps in the league. Meanwhile, Ezekiel Elliott has been running like a mad man over the last two weeks to quiet the Tony Pollard talks. The end result is that the Cowboys have a two-headed monster in the backfield. Against the Giants' defense, we should not expect the Cowboys' offense to hit any major roadblocks. The question will be what can the Giants' offense produce and if they can keep pace. Keep in mind that both receivers Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton were out of last week's win against the Saints. Both receivers' status for this week is uncertain again. Therefore barring a complete setback from the Dallas defense, I think the Cowboys match-up very well against the Giants and should be able to keep their undefeated streak against the spread intact.

NY Giants at Dallas prediction ATS 10/10/21

I'm banking on the Cowboy's defense to help them extend the margin and get the cover.
