Two members of the great quarterback draft class of 2020 meet in a possible Super Bowl preview when the Eagles host the Dolphins for this week's edition of Sunday night NFL betting action.

Former Alabama QBs Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts both have their teams at 5-1. How are we playing this game with our free NFL betting pick?

NFL Betting Lines

The Week 7 NFL betting market opened the Eagles at -2.5 over the Dolphins, with an over/under of right around 52.5. Both figures were holding steady in the early betting action.

Dolphins-Eagles Betting Preview

Miami is 5-1 on the season after beating winless Carolina 42-21. The Dolphins, favored by 14 points, spotted the Panthers the first 14 points of the game. But Miami rallied to lead 21-14 by halftime, scored the first 14 points of the second half, and later tacked on a touchdown with two minutes left to cover.

The Dolphins out-gained Carolina 424-296 and ran the ball for 162 yards.

Miami began this season with wins over the Chargers, Patriots, and Broncos - three teams with a combined record of 4-13. The Dolphins then lost at Buffalo 48-20, then beat the lowly Giants 31-16 and the Panthers.

So that's the only complaint about Miami so far; their weak schedule.

Meanwhile, Philadelphia just took its first loss of this season, a 20-14 decision at the Jets last Sunday. The Eagles scored the first 14 points of the game, led 14-9 at the half but went cold, fell down with just under two minutes to go and could not respond.

Philadelphia out-gained New York 348-244 but lost the turnover battle 4-0, which basically cost them the game.

Despite the loss, the Eagles still cashed in on the "final unbeaten team" betting board at +750 because San Francisco lost earlier Sunday.

Philadelphia opened this season with victories over the Patriots, Vikings, Buccaneers, Commanders, and Rams. Again, not exactly a Murderer's Row of opponents. And three of those wins came by six points or less. So while the Eagles are 5-1, they're not yet clicking like they were last year.

These teams met most recently four seasons ago, a 37-31 Dolphins home win. Ryan Fitzpatrick quarterbacked Miami that day against Carson Wentz for Philadelphia.

Totals Report

The overs are 4-2 in Dolphins games this season, which, even when we throw out that crazy game against Denver, are averaging 58 total points.

The totals are split 3-3 in Eagles games, which are averaging 47 points.

After going 13-2 last week the unders are 56-37 in the NFL this season.

Dolphins at Eagles Money line Pick

Philadelphia flirted with danger a couple of times earlier this season, and it caught up to them last week. As mentioned above, the Eagles just aren't quite the team they were last season, at least not yet. Meanwhile, Miami owns the No. 1 offense in the League - by a huge margin - and while the air attack gets most of the ink, they also lead the League in rushing at 182 YPG. We like the Dolphins to win this one outright.
