Miami Dolphins at Minnesota Vikings Overview

Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins come in off a victory that was bound to stir an uproar and the creation of a lot of memes when Miami pulled off what was called a “miracle” last Sunday when they defeated the New England Patriots 34-33 at home, last Sunday. The triumph was attained on the last play of the game through a series of laterals that saw running back Kenyon Drake sprinting into the end zone to pull off the shocker. The win was Miami’s second consecutive since losing to Indianapolis, three weeks ago. Miami has covered in their last three contests.

Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings enter in overall poor form as they have lost three of their last four fixtures. Most recently, national audiences watched the Purple People Eaters get dominated on Monday Night Football when the Seattle Seahawks hosted the defending NFC North Champions, and the 12th Man powered the Hawks to a 21-7 win. Minnesota is 1-3 ATS in their previous four outings.

Reasons To Avoid Miami

Out of the gate, we have seen the consensus flock to the Dolphins as 60% of the public have leaned on Miami as the dog. We have already seen the market begin to dip as a result and this can be chalked up as an overreaction to what transpired last Sunday. Sentimental plays such as these are often the cause of many ripped up tickets.

Reasons To Back Minnesota

In addition to the risk of an overreaction, Minnesota has been a strong team on their own field going 4-2 SU in the Twin Cities. The Vikings are hosting a Miami team that has lost their last five contests away from home this season, four of which were settled by double-digit margins. Given the prospect of Minnesota being underpriced here due to the overreaction, there is tremendous value in laying the points with the Vikings. Moreover, Minnesota owns advantages on both sides of the football as they possess a more productive offense and a far stingier top-five ranked defense regarding total yards per game (323.6). Miami remains one of the worst in that department giving up 400.5 yards of total offense per game (29th in NFL).

Miami at Minnesota Prediction 12/16/2018

If Minnesota wins out, they return to the post-season. Given how they have looked as of late combined with the hype that surrounded this team due to their performance last season, anything less than a playoff berth would be unacceptable for this Vikings bunch. Minnesota won't make the mistake of taking Miami lightly, and they have the benefit of having their faithful behind them in this contest. For New England, neither of the two applied. Minnesota will win this one by convincing margins.
