The Chiefs and Ravens are not divisional rivals, but they'll meet for the fourth time over the last two and a half seasons Sunday night in Baltimore. Kansas City is the two-time defending AFC champion and 1-0 on this season, while the Ravens, trying to reach KC's level, are off to an 0-1 start.

Baltimore isn't lined as a home dog very often, but it is here, getting three and a hook. How are we playing this game with our <a class="advblue" href="https://www.sportsbettingstats.com/nfl/free-nfl-picks" title="NFL Free Picks">free NFL betting pick?

Chiefs-Ravens NFL Betting Preview

Kansas City opened its 2021 season last week with a 33-29 come-from-behind victory over Cleveland. The Chiefs spotted the Browns the first eight points of the game and trailed 22-10 at the half. KC then scored the first 10 points out of the locker room, fell down by nine with 10 minutes to go but scored the last 13 points of the game, seven on a gift from Cleveland’s punter, to steal the W.

However, the Chiefs came up short against the spread as favorites of 5.5 points.

Kansas City got out-gained by the Browns 457-397 and out-rushed 153-73 but won the turnover battle 2-0, including a game-clinching pick near mid-field with one minute left.

The Chiefs played 14-2 last season, and their loss in Week 17 didn't matter. Kansas City then beat the Browns and Bills in the playoffs before laying an egg in that Super Bowl loss to Tampa Bay. Going back a bit further, KC is 24-2 SU, 15-10-1 ATS over its last 26 games that actually mattered.

Baltimore, meanwhile, opened its season last week with a 33-27 overtime loss at Las Vegas. The Ravens scored the first 14 points of the game and led 14-10 at the half. Baltimore later led 17-10, 24-17, and 27-24 with 37 seconds to go, only to allow the Raiders to tie the game on a 55-yard field goal at the regulation buzzer. The Ravens eventually lost the game after QB Jackson lost a fumble late in the OT, followed shortly by a Vegas touchdown.

Baltimore got out-gained by the Raiders 491-406, although it out-rushed Las Vegas 189-82 de-spite missing its top three running backs. But the Ravens also lost the turnover battle 2-1, creating a -10 points differential.

Baltimore played 11-5 last season, then beat Tennessee in a wild-card game before losing to Buf-falo in a divisional-round bout. But stretching back into the middle of last season, the Ravens are only 7-6 SU, although 8-5 ATS, over their previous 13 games.

Kansas City is playing against a season wins total over/under of 12.5 this season, Baltimore an O/U of 11.

Chiefs-Ravens Recent History

KC owns a four-game winning streak in the series with Baltimore, going 3-1 ATS along the way. Also, QB Mahomes is 3-0 SU, 2-1 ATS vs. QB Jackson. Most recently, back in Week 3 of last season, the Chiefs beat the Ravens 34-20 in Baltimore, taking that game outright as three-point dogs.

Kansas City led that game 27-10 at the half, let the Ravens get within 27-20 in the fourth quarter, but tacked on an insurance score and held on from there.

Also, that game sneaked under a total of 55.

NFL Betting Trends

Totals Report

Totals split 8-8 in Chiefs games last season, which averaged 52 total points. Then last week’s game against the Browns played over a total of 55.

Unders played 9-7 in Ravens games last season, which averaged 48 points. Then last week’s game against the Raiders played over a total of 50.

Unders are 9-8 in the NFL this season.

Baltimore may be hurting for running backs but still managed to rush for 189 yards last week. The Ravens also own the better run defense in this match-up. Also, the previous three meetings between these two teams played close; two were decided by three points (in overtime) and five points, and the other was a seven-point game midway through the fourth quarter. We see another close game here, so we're taking the Ravens plus the points.
