Ohio State continues its quest to stay perfect when it meets up with Wisconsin Saturday night at Camp Randall. The Buckeyes are 7-0 on the season, with four games to play before the Big One against Michigan. And they’re favored by two touchdowns to reach 8-0.

CFB Betting Odds

This week's college football betting market opened Ohio State at -14 for Saturday night, with an over/under of right around 44. Early betting action then added a hook to that spread and a point to that total.

Ohio State-Wisconsin Betting Preview

The Buckeyes remained perfect on the season by beating Penn State last week 20-12. Ohio State took the lead for good on a touchdown midway through the second quarter, later led 20-6 and didn’t let the Lions get back within one score until less than a minute remained. The Buckeyes also covered the spread at -5.

Ohio State did get a little lucky early in that game, though, when a penalty erased a Penn State defensive score.

The Buckeyes out-gained the Nittany Lions 365-240 and held Penn State to just 1/16 on 3rd-down conversions.

Two weeks ago Ohio State won at Purdue 41-7 and covered at -17; three weeks ago OSU pulled away from Maryland 37-17 and covered at -17.

At 7-0 overall the Buckeyes remain in the hunt for a College Football Playoff berth.

Meanwhile, the Badgers avoided a second straight loss when they came from behind to win at Illinois last Saturday 25-21. Wisconsin basically stunk for three quarters of that game and trailed 21-7 into the fourth. But Bucky hit the board on its last three possessions, including the game-winning TD on a tackle-eligible play with 30 seconds left, to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Wisconsin out-gained the Illini 379-323, although the defense allowed 223 yards on the ground.

New starting QB Braedyn Locke, making his first career start in place of the injured Tanner Mordecai, hit 21/41 on passing last week, which ain’t great, and lost a fumble that led to an Illinois TD. But he also made the toss on the game-winning score and threw zero interceptions.

Two weeks ago the Badgers lost at home to Iowa 15-7 even though the defense allowed just 237 yards of Hawkeyes offense.

But at 3-1 in Big 10 play Wisconsin leads the West Division by a half-game over Iowa.

Ohio State-Wisconsin Recent History

The Buckeyes own a nine-game winning streak on the Badgers, going 6-2-1 ATS along the way. Last year at the Horseshoe Ohio State led 28-0 early in the second quarter, won 52-21 and covered at -19.

College Football Betting Trends

Ohio State is 10-7-2 ATS its last 19 games as a favorite on the road.

Totals Report

The unders are 6-1 in Buckeyes games this season, which are averaging 44 total points.

The overs are 4-3 in Badgers games, which are averaging 45 points.

Ohio State Buckeyes at Wisconsin Badgers Pick ATS - Week 9

Ohio State is just the better team in this match-up and should win this game. The one thing the Buckeyes are not doing too well at the moment is rushing the football; perhaps they can remedy that against a Wisconsin defense that just gave up 223 yards on the ground to Illinois. Also, the Badgers are playing with a QB making his second career start. Also, playing on the road means the spread is a little friendlier toward OSU. We’re betting the Buckeyes Saturday night, minus the points.
