The Utah Jazz (33-26) are looking to move back up in the Western Conference standings, as they host the Los Angeles Clippers (34-28) on Wednesday night. The Jazz is 19-10 at home this season and currently sixth-place in the standings. The Clippers trail them by half of a game, sitting as the No. 7 team in the West and 17-16 on the road this season. Utah took care of business back in mid-January when they defeated Los Angeles 129-109. Donovan Mitchell led the way for the Jazz with a team-high 28 points on 10-of-22 shooting. Rudy Gobert had a monster outing racking up 23 points, 22 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Wednesday will mark just the second time these two teams have faced off, as they are set to play once more at the end of the season. The Jazz is -9.5 over the Clippers on Wednesday.

Utah in Playoff Hunt

After losing a tough game in double overtime to the Oklahoma City Thunder last Friday, the Jazz was able to bounce back with a 125-109 victory over the Dallas Mavericks. Ricky Rubio and Donovan Mitchell both finished with 25 points, as they now play this home game against the Clippers before going back on the road. In just his second season Mitchell leads Utah in scoring with 22.8 points per game. Mitchell is shooting a slightly worse percentage than he did during his rookie year but is averaging more points a night. Every team needs an All-Star caliber center, and the Jazz has just that in Rudy Gobert. Many fans believed that Gobert was one of the biggest snubs not to be named to the All-Star game in Charlotte this year. The big man is top-five in rebounds per game (12.9), blocks per game (2.17), and leads the entire league in field goal percentage (65%). Outside of those stats he is second on the team in scoring averaging 15.4 points per game and presents a defensive dominance under the basket.

Clippers Hanging On

Ironically enough the Clippers last win also came against the Mavericks, as Montrezl Harrell scored a career-high 32 points to lead Los Angeles to a 121-112 victory. Lou Williams also scored 20 points and dished out a team-high 10 assists. This isn't a team on paper that many people thought would be in playoff contention this season, but coach Doc Rivers has done a phenomenal job with his team this season. After breaking apart Lob City these were supposed to be the rebuilding years, and here they are in the middle of the playoff race. Danilo Gallinari playing healthy this year has been huge, as he is averaging 18.8 points per game. Sixth-man of the year candidate Lou Williams provides a team-high 19.9 points off the bench. Since coming over from Houston Montrezl Harrell has really developed as a scorer in this league. He's having a career year averaging 16.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks.
