Wednesday's <a class="advblue" href="https://www.sportsbettingstats.com/mlb/odds" title="Live MLB Betting Odds">MLB betting odds opened LA and Kershaw at a heavy -235 over San Fran and Gausman, with an over/under of 8.5 runs. Both those figures were holding steady in the early betting action.

The Dodgers could also be found at around -135, giving the run and a half on the MLB run line.

Dodgers vs. Giants Set-Up

San Francisco came from behind to shock Los Angeles Tuesday night 10-8 in 11 innings. The Giants trailed 3-0 early, then 6-3 but scored single runs in the bottom of the fifth, seventh, and ninth innings to tie things up at 6-6. San Fran then fell behind 7-6 in top of the 10, tied it in the bottom of the tenth, fell behind 8-7 in the top of the 11th but scored three runs in the bottom of the eleventh, the last two on a homer by Donovan Solano, to steal the victory.

The Giants won Tuesday as +190 home underdogs on the MLB betting board, and the game played over its total of nine runs.

Tuesday's loss snapped a four-game winning streak for Los Angeles. Tuesday's win extends San Francisco's winning streak to seven in a row. At 22-9 overall, the Dodgers lead the NL West by four games over second-place San Diego, and they're three games up on the Cubs in the battle for the best record in the National League. At 15-16 overall, the Giants trail LA by seven games in the NL West, but they also own the No. 8 spot in the National League, which is good for a playoff berth this season. The season series between these teams is now tied at four games apiece.

Wednesday's Starting Arms

Gausman is just 1/5 on quality starts this season. Last Thursday against the Angels, he gave up four runs on nine hits through 5 1/3 innings of a 10-5 San Francisco win. And over his last three outings, he's allowed eight runs on 17 hits and four walks, with 25 strikeouts, through 17 1/3 innings. The Giants are just 1-4 with Gausman this season, with overs going 3-1-1. Over his last two starts against the Dodgers, one last season while with Atlanta and one two weeks ago with his new team, Gausman allowed six runs – four earned – and ten hits through 10 2/3 innings, with 12 whiffs. His teams lost both those games. Lefty Kershaw is 2/4 on quality starts this season. Last Thursday, he held Seattle to one run and four hits through seven innings, with one walk and 11 K's, in a 6-1 LA victory. And six days before that, he held the Angels to one run and one hit through seven frames of a 7-4 Dodgers win. On the season Los Angeles is 3-1 with Kershaw, all three victories coming by at least three runs, with the totals splitting 2-2. Over his last four starts against the Giants, three last year and one earlier this month, Kershaw allowed nine runs on 23 hits and seven walks through 22 1/3 innings. The Dodgers lost three of those four games.

The Giants have also scored at least five runs each of their last eight games.

Los Angeles at San Francisco Prediction 8/26/20

Kershaw's been tough his last two times out, so we give him the check-mark in the pitching match-up. We also give LA a short edge with the sticks and a significant edge in the bullpen comparison, despite what happened Tuesday night. So we like the Dodgers here. But we don't like that price. So in knowing Los Angeles will bat nine times, we'll play LA against the run line.
