Cleveland: Mike Clevinger (2-3, 3.89 ERA)
Baltimore: Wade Miley (3-4, 4.29 ERA)

Mike Clevinger goes for the Indians in this series finale and in his last start he only went four innings, but only gave up one earned run in a 6-2 win over the Minnesota Twins. The Indians had lost his previous three starts where he gave up 12 earned runs in 15 innings of work. Clevinger only career start against the Orioles came last season where he took a no decision and gave up four runs in four innings. The Indians have lost four of his last five starts against a team with a losing record and they have lost six of his last eight starts after scoring 5 runs or more in their previous game.

Wade Miley gets the nod for the Orioles tonight and he was lit up for five earned runs in five innings in his last outing, but the lineup bailed him out in a 15-7 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. The Orioles have won two of his last three starts, but the lineup is to thank, as in that span he has gone nine innings and given up 15 earned runs. In Miley’s career against the Indians he is 1-1 with an ERA of 4.30. The Orioles have won four of his last five home starts and they have won five of his last seven starts after they allowed at least five runs in their previous game.

Cleveland Indians vs. Baltimore Orioles Prediction For June 22/2017

The Indians have won seven of their last eight games and they had won six in a row before losing Game 2 of this series. They are in first place in the AL Central with a 1.5 game lead on the Minnesota Twins. The Cleveland pitching has been solid as of late only giving up a total of 15 runs in their last seven games with six coming in the Game 2 loss in this series. The Orioles have lost three of their last four games and with them slumping the last few weeks they are now tied with the Toronto Blue Jays in the basement of the AL East five games out of first place. Mike Clevinger is being recalled from the minors after a very short stint there and he has not looked good in his last few starts. I expect him to have a decent outing tonight while I cannot say the same about Miley. In his last two starts at home he has given up nine earned runs in only seven innings and work and look for him to struggle again tonight. The Indians will take this game and in the process win the series.
