No Dak Prescott, no problem! At least that is what the Dallas Cowboys proved last Sunday night with a 20-16 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. In Prescott's absence, backup quarterback Cooper Rush delivered a surprisingly solid effort by hitting 24 of 40 passing for 325 yards with two touchdowns and one pick. Receivers CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper both eclipsed the 100-yard receiving mark as the Cowboys mustered just enough offense to steal the victory on the road in Minnesota. On Sunday, Dallas will put their six-game winning streak on the line when they host the Denver Broncos at AT&T Stadium as 9.5 point betting favorites.

Luckily for Cowboys fans, QB Dak Prescott has been trending in the right direction this week in practices. Barring any late-week setbacks, Prescott is expected to make his return on Sunday, which means the Cowboys offense will have all of their weapons against a Denver defense that has been decimated with injuries. Furthermore, the Broncos sent 8-time Pro Bowl LB Von Miller to the Rams earlier this week in exchange for 2nd and 3rd round draft picks. Though Miller is arguably past his prime, he was still one of the most important pieces to a struggling Denver defense, and that will only add to the Broncos concern for the immediate future, starting with their match-up against Dallas this weekend.

Denver Broncos vs. Dallas Cowboys Betting Preview

The Broncos snapped a four-game losing streak with a 17-10 victory over Washington in week 8. Despite the victory, the Broncos did not exactly show any signs of vast improvement. Throughout the four-game losing streak, the Broncos struggled significantly on the offensive side of the football averaging just 16 points per game. Against one of the worst teams in the NFC by way of Washington, Denver produced no better results despite coming up with a pair of turnovers. QB Teddy Bridgewater has been average at best. Meanwhile, tailbacks Melvin Gordon and Javonte Williams combined for 19 carries for just 80 yards against a Washington defense that has not stopped anyone this season.

Needless to say, I am not confident that Denver can play well enough on either side of the football to keep this week nine match-up with Dallas competitive. Granted, this is the NFL, and things can change suddenly from week to week. With that said, the Cowboys simply have all the momentum, all of the talent, and the play-calling to exploit Denver in all ways imaginable. I would not be surprised to see a slower game pace, but I think Dallas will create enough scoring opportunities to pull out an easy victory. As long as the Cowboys defense does not completely collapse, I really like Dallas to cover and would also advocate a bet towards the under as well.

Broncos vs. Cowboys Prediction 11/7/21

With the expectation that Dak returns combined with a decimated Denver defense, I like the Cowboys to keep their undefeated streak (ATS) alive.
