College Football Betting Odds
College football bowl betting odds opened Utah State at -9, with an over/under of right around 65. Early betting action then dropped that line as low as -6 at some outlets.

Frisco Bowl Betting Preview
Utah State was picked to finish about a third in the Mountain West's Mountain Conference this season, and that's just where they ended up, finishing 6-2 in conference play. The Aggies opened this season with a tough 38-35 loss at what turned out to be a pretty good Wake Forest team, then won three straight, including a victory at San Diego State. USU then lost three of its next four games, including a 42-6 decision at LSU, but then won three of its last four, capped off by a 38-25 triumph at New Mexico Nov. 30.
So the Aggies are playing in a bowl for the third straight season. Two years ago, they fell to New Mexico State in overtime in the Arizona Bowl 26-20, while last year they pounded North Texas in the New Mexico Bowl 52-13.
Utah State does most of its damage offensively through the air, averaging 276 yards per game passing. On the other side of the ball, the Aggies are a bit iffy, allowing 432 YPG this season, which ranks 96th in FBS ball.
On a personnel note, Utah State starting QB Jordan Love and RB Gerold Bright got cited for smoking pot last weekend, but they've been cleared to play in this bowl.

Kent State, meanwhile, was picked to finish third or fourth in the MAC East this season but finished in a three-way tie for second at 5-3 in conference play. The Flashes started 3-3, with the three losses coming at Arizona State, at Auburn, and at Wisconsin. KSU then lost three straight, each by seven points or less, to fall to 3-6. But the Flashes then finished with a flourish, winning their last three games, all as underdogs, to become bowl-eligible for the first time since 2012.
Kent State is more balanced offensively than the Aggies, averaging 212 YPG through the air and 181 YPG on the ground. But the Flashes are even iffier than USU on defense, ranking 120th by allowing 472 YPG.
