South Florida Bulls at Houston Cougars Pick ATS - Odds and Betting Predictions
The South Florida Bulls will put their straight-up seven-game winning streak on the line as road underdogs in this Saturday’s AAC clash against the Houston Cougars. Game time from TDECU Stadium is set for 3:30 p.m. with ABC carrying the game nationally.
South Florida at Houston Game Overview
The Bulls remained perfect on the year with last Saturday's 38-30 victory at home against Connecticut, but they came nowhere close to covering the hefty 33-point spread. South Florida has failed to cover against the spread in five of its first seven games, but it did cover in its only game as an underdog with an early-season upset against Georgia Tech. The total has stayed UNDER or ended as a PUSH in four of its last five games.
Blake Barnett has taken the majority of the snaps under center for the Bulls, and he has thrown for 1,810 yards and 10 touchdowns. Jordan Cronkrite has done an excellent job running the ball with 860 rushing yards and six scores on 110 carries. Overall, this offense is averaging 35.6 points per game. One of the main reasons why so many of their seven wins have been closer than expected is a defense that is allowing an average of 25.7 points.
Houston's only SU loss in its first seven games came against Texas Tech on Sept. 15 in a 63-49 shootout as a one-point road favorite. The Cougars knocked off Navy last Saturday 49-36 as 11-point road favorites to improve to 4-3 ATS. The total went OVER 58.5 points in that game, and it has gone OVER in four of their first seven games. Houston is 3-0 SU at home this season with a 2-1 record ATS. The total stayed UNDER in two of those three games.
If you are looking for an overall display of offense, Houston would have to rank rather high on the list. The Cougars’ 321.3 passing yards a game is ranked ninth in the nation and they are adding another 234 yards a game on the ground. This all adds up to a scoring average of 48.7 PPG that is ranked second in Division IA (FBS). Houston is another team that looks to win games by outscoring the competition with a defense that is tied for 84th in points allowed (29.1).

South Florida at Houston Prediction 10/27/2018
These two offensive powers should be able to go up and down the field on one another all day long in Houston to tempt a play on the inflated total line. I do see quite a few points going up on the board, but I am staying away from that bet altogether.
This should actually be a very entertaining game that stays within a touchdown until the final gun so I will take the points on the road team with the Bulls covering ATS as underdogs.
