Wolverines Fall 24-17 Against Notre Dame - Game Recap

The Fighting Irish were Week 1 winners on Saturday, coming out on top of the Wolverines by a score of 24-17 at Notre Dame Stadium.

The Fighting Irish were a +3.0-point underdog in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 46.5.

Brandon Wimbush rushed for 59 yards, while Tony Jones Jr. added 45 yards in the win. Chris Finke and Chase Claypool added 55 and 47 receiving yards respectively.

Karan Higdon rushed for 72 yards for Michigan, while Dylan McCaffrey added 10 yards. Shea Patterson threw for 227 yards for the Wolverines, while receivers Nico Collins and Grant Perry had 66 and 48 yards respectively.

Michigan outgained Notre Dame 307-302 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 21-20 by the Fighting Irish.

Michigan led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 31:33-28:27 split in that important category.

Next game, Notre Dame takes its act home to face Ball State looking for another win. For Michigan, they head home to face Western Michigan.
