Oregon vs. Oregon State Game Overview

Oregon continues to be in solid position for one of four spots in this season's national playoffs so do not expect any kind of letdown in light of the size of the spread in this game. The Ducks bring a six-game winning streak both straight-up and against the spread into Saturday night's clash and they have won all six games by double-digits. In doing so, the total has gone OVER in four of their last five contests.

Other than a bad loss to Arizona as a heavy home favorite in early October, Oregon has played like a legitimate national title contender behind an offense that is ranked 14th in the country in passing and third in scoring with 45.8 points a game. Heisman hopeful Marcus Mariota has led the way with 3,103 yards passing and 32 scoring strikes, while adding another 597 yards and nine scores on the ground. The Ducks' defense has not allowed more than 27 points in four of the team's last five games.

The Beavers actually need to win this game to become bowl eligible after posting a 5-6 SU record in their first 11 games. Oregon State did get off to a strong start, but following last Saturday's 37-13 loss to Washington as a 6.5-point road underdog, it is just 1-5 both SU and ATS in its last six games. The total has now stayed UNDER in its last two games after going OVER in four of its previous five outings.

Other than the fact that this is a heated rivalry and the Beavers are playing at home, there is little in this matchup that tells me they will be able to keep things closer than the 20-point spread. Oregon State is averaging 26.3 points a game and defensively it is ranked 91st in the country in points allowed (30.2). Sean Mannion has thrown for over 3000 yards this season, but it remains to be seen how effective he will be on Saturday without a decent running game to balance things out.

Oregon vs. Oregon State Game Betting Trends

The Ducks are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 road games in conference play and the total has stayed UNDER in five of their last six games on the road in the Pac-12.

The Beavers are 1-6 ATS in their last seven conference games at home and 1-3 ATS in their last four games as home underdogs. The total has stayed UNDER in their last three games as underdogs at home.

Head-to-head in this rivalry, Oregon has won the last six games SU with a slight 3-2-1 edge ATS. The total has gone OVER in 11 of the last 12 meetings.

Free Oregon vs. Oregon State Point Spread Pick

As mentioned earlier, there is just too much on the line for Oregon to take this game for granted. While you never want to give-up this many points to a home team in a bitter rivalry situation, the disparity between these two teams is just too wide to keep things closer than 20 points. So much so, I am going to make the Ducks one of my "best bets" of the week.
