It's the Big Game of the year in the Big Ten Conference when Ohio State battles Michigan for big stakes Saturday afternoon at the Big House in Ann Arbor. The Buckeyes sit at No. 2 in this week's College Football Playoff rankings, the Wolverines at No. 5. So the winner of this game will remain in the hunt for a spot in the CFP while the loser will be eliminated.

Ohio State, which owns an eight-game winning streak in this rivalry, is lined as an eight-point road favorite for this one. Which way are we going here with our free college football betting pick?

Ohio State-Michigan Betting Odds

This week's college football betting lines opened OSU at around -7 over UM, with an over/under of around 64. Early betting action then bumped the Buckeyes to -8.

Ohio State Betting Preview

The Buckeyes ride a nine-game winning streak into Saturday, after administrating a serious dose of reality to Michigan State last week 56-7. Ohio State scored touchdowns on its first seven possessions of the game, led 49-0 at the half, and cruise-controlled it from there for the victory and the easy cover as a 20-point favorite.

The Buckeyes racked up 665 yards of total offense while holding the Spartans to just 224 and dominated the time of possession by a 38:22 split.

Ohio State has now out-gained each of its 11 opponents this season, most by large margins. The Buckeyes are also 6-2 ATS their last eight times out, even while favored by 20 points on a regular basis.

Michigan Betting Preview

The Wolverines, meanwhile, are 3-0, both SU and ATS their last three times out after mugging Maryland previous week 59-18. Michigan led 14-0 ten minutes into the game and 24-3 at the half. The Wolverines later allowed the Terrapins to get within 38-18 late in the third quarter but tacked on three touchdowns from there for the win and the money as 16-point favorites.

Michigan out-gained Maryland 503-359 and scored touchdowns on a kick-off return and a pick-6.

So the Wolverines have now out-gained each of their last seven opponents, going 6-1 both SU and ATS along the way.

At 8-0 in conference play, Ohio State leads the Big Ten East by one game over 7-1 Michigan. So this game is for a division title and a spot in the Big Ten championship game. And a victory there would very likely be worth an invitation to the CFP.

Ohio State Buckeyes at Michigan Wolverines Prediction ATS 11/27/21

The Buckeyes lead the nation in total offense while the Wolverines rank No. 9 in total defense. And in match-ups like this, we usually prefer the great defense. Also, of Ohio State's eight wins in a row over Michigan, most of those games were close in the third and fourth quarters. If the  Wolverines can run the ball a bit here and keep that OSU offense off the field, they can keep this one close, too. We're not calling for the outright upset here, but we're betting Michigan plus the points.
