Wisconsin is playing to stay atop the Big Ten West while Nebraska is relegated to playing spoiler, heading into this Big Ten bout slated for Saturday afternoon at Camp Randall. The Badgers started 1-3 this season but ride a six-game winning streak into Saturday. The Cornhuskers, on the other hand, lug a four-game losing skid into Saturday, although all of those losses were close.

Nebraska-Wisconsin Betting Odds

This week's college football betting lines opened the Badgers as 10.5-point favorites over the Cornhuskers, with an over/under of right around 42. Early betting action then dipped that spread one key point, down to -9.5.

Nebraska Betting Preview

The disappointing Cornhuskers are 3-7 on the season after losing at home to Ohio State two weeks ago 26-17. Nebraska then had last week off.

The 'Huskers gave up the first 10 points of the game against the Buckeyes and trailed 17-10 at the half. Nebraska then gave up the first six points of the second half, pulled to within 23-17 late in the third quarter, then drove inside the OSU red zone, only to miss a field goal. From there, the Cornhuskers could get no closer in taking a fourth straight tough defeat, but they hung on for the cover as 14-point home dogs.

Nebraska got out-gained by Ohio State 495-361 and lost time of possession by a 34:26 split.

Two games ago, the 'Huskers lost to Purdue 28-23; three games ago, they lost to Minnesota 30-23; and four games ago, they lost to Michigan 32-29. In fact, of Nebraska's seven losses this season, six have come by one score or less, and the other came by nine points against the Buckeyes.

With just three wins overall, the Cornhuskers are playing out the string on their fifth straight bowl-less season.

Wisconsin Betting Preview

The Badgers, meanwhile, are 7-3 on the season after beating Northwestern last week 35-7. Wisconsin scored three touchdowns in the second quarter to lead 21-0 into halftime, then scored the first two touchdowns of the second half and eased home from there for the victory and the cover as a 24-point favorite.

The Badgers out-gained the Wildcats 497-239, out-rushed Northwestern 268-114, forced four turnovers and won the time of possession by a 34:26 split.

The Wisconsin defense actually pitched a shut-out last week; the only points the Wildcats scored came on a fumble return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

The Badgers have now out-gained and out-rushed each of their last six opponents. They’re also 6-0 SU, 5-1 ATS over that span.

At 5-2 in conference play, Wisconsin is tied with Iowa for first place in the Big Ten West. But the Badgers also own the head-to-head tie-breaker on the Hawkeyes. So if Wisconsin wins Saturday and next week at Minnesota, it will once again play in the Big Ten championship game.

Nebraska-Wisconsin Recent History

The Badgers own a seven-game winning streak in the series with the ‘Huskers, going 4-3 ATS in the process. Most recently, two seasons ago, Wisconsin beat Nebraska 37-21, covering at -14.

Nebraska at Wisconsin Prediction 11/20/21

Wisconsin is playing good ball lately with a rejuvenated running game and a great defense. However, the Badgers haven't exactly played a Murderers' Row of a schedule as of late. Nebraska, meanwhile, maybe four games under .500 on the season, but it's actually out-gained opponents by almost 100 yards per game and out-rushed foes by 60 yards per game. And in taking all those close losses, the 'Huskers are actually above .500 ATS. We see another close game here, and Nebraska might even have enough to pull the upset. We like the 'Huskers plus the points.
