Auburn was not the only surprise team out of the SEC this season as Missouri grabbed a share of the spotlight with a 7-1 SU run in conference play that earned it the East Division title. The Tigers went on to lose to Auburn 59-42 in the SEC title game as two-point favorites, but it was a highly successful season overall with an impressive 11-2 mark both SU and ATS. The total went OVER in five of six road games this year.
Missouri averaged 256.5 passing yards a game behind the arms of James Franklin and Maty Mauk, but the real strength of this offense was a rushing attack that churned-out 236.5 yards a game on the ground. Henry Josey led the way with 1,074 yards on 162 carries, but the Tigers had three other backs with at least 450 yards rushing on the year. With the exception of the 59 point explosion in the SEC Championship, Missouri's defense did a fairly good job at keeping opposing teams in check. This unit finished 29th in the nation in points allowed (22.5).

Either one of these team could have been playing for a national title if one or two breaks went their way, so expect a close, hard-fought battle in this matchup. In the end, the difference will be the Tigers' ability to run the ball and control the clock just enough to grind out a win.
