It's the first really big game of the season in the PAC-12 when Coach Kelly and No. 9 UCLA meet his former outfit, No. 10 Oregon, Saturday afternoon in Eugene. The Bruins are off to their best start since 2005, while the Ducks are chasing a fourth straight conference championship game appearance.

Oregon's favored by a short touchdown here. Who do we like for our free UCLA/ORE pick?

UCLA-Oregon Betting Odds

This week's college football betting lines opened Oregon as a six-point favorite over UCLA, with an over/under of right around 71. Late betting action has driven the spread to -6.5 and the total after dipping after the opening is back to 71 points.

UCLA-Oregon College Football Betting Preview

The Bruins are 6-0 on the season after beating Utah at the Rose Bowl two weeks ago 42-32. They then had last week off.

UCLA, playing as a three-point home dog against the Utes, scored the first seven points of the game and never trailed. The Bruins led 14-10 at the half, let Utah get within 28-25 early in the fourth quarter but scored two quick touchdowns to go up 17 and held on from there.

UCLA racked up 502 yards of total offense against the Utes, including 203 on the ground, but also gave up 479 yards of Utah offense. The Bruins also lost time of possession by a 34:26 split.

Stretching back into late last season, UCLA now owns a nine-game winning streak, going 7-2 ATS in the process. The Bruins have also out-gained each of their last nine opponents and out-rushed eight of their last nine foes.

The Ducks, meanwhile, are 5-1 on the season after winning at Arizona two weeks ago 49-22. They also then had last week off.

Oregon, playing as a two-touchdown favorite, spotted the Wildcats an early field goal, then scored touchdowns on its next four possessions and led 28-13 at the half. The Ducks then scored touchdowns on their first three possessions of the second half and cruised from there for the victory and the cover.

Oregon out-gained Arizona 580-356, out-rushed the Wildcats 306-115, and won the turnover battle 3-0, creating a +20 points differential.

The Ducks opened this season with that ugly loss to Georgia, but since then, they're 5-0 SU, 4-1 ATS, scoring at least 41 points every game. Oregon has also out-gained and out-rushed each of its last five opponents, most by huge margins.

UCLA-Oregon Recent History

The Ducks own the rivalry with the Bruins as of late, winning nine of the last ten meetings against SU, going 6-4 ATS along the way. Last season down in Pasadena, Oregon spotted UCLA the first 14 points of the game, then used a 34-3 run to go up 34-17 and hung on from there.

Also, that game played over a total of 63.

College Football Betting Trends

In games involving two ranked teams this season, the higher-ranked outfits are 13-12 SU but only 10-14-1 ATS.

Totals Report

  • The Overs are 5-1 in Bruins games this season and are averaging 64 total points.
  • The Overs are 4-2 in Ducks games, which are averaging 71 points.
  • The Overs are 3-0 over the last three meetings between these teams.

UCLA Bruins at Oregon Ducks Prediction ATS 10/22/22

The last two match-ups between these two teams were both decided by three points, and this one might come down to that, too. Oregon's probably the better team overall, but UCLA can put points of the board just as well. Plus, with this game in Eugene, we're thinking the spread is probably inflated by a field goal or so. So in anticipation of a barn-burner, we're betting on the Bruins, plus the points.
