Tuesday's NBA Point Spread Picks
The Bucks try to avoid elimination again, while the Lakers and Rockets meet for a key Game 3, as NBA playoff action continues Tuesday. How are we playing these games with our free NBA playoff picks?
Heat -3/217 vs. Bucks, 6:30 pm ET, TNT
Miami leads this series three games to one, following Milwaukee's 118-115 Game 4 victory in overtime Sunday. The Bucks lost F Giannis Antetokounmpo to an ankle injury in the second quarter but battled the Heat shorthanded the rest of the way. In the end, Milwaukee nearly won the game in regulation but didn't, then prevailed in OT.
On the afternoon, the Bucks shot 49 percent from the floor while holding Miami to 44 percent shooting.
Milwaukee won Sunday as a two-point underdog. Also, that game was under its total of 219 through regulation but played over in overtime.
Antetokounmpo is listed as questionable for Tuesday with that sore ankle, and while he'll probably play, he'll also likely be limited.
With Sunday's win, Milwaukee is now 5-4 both SU and ATS in these playoffs.
With Sunday's loss, the Heat are now 7-1 both SU and ATS in these playoffs.
Also, Miami is now 5-2 both SU and ATS against the Bucks this season.
Free NBA Playoff Pick: We're 3-1 ATS picking this series, going with Miami all four games. The Heat said they relaxed after The Freak left the game Sunday, but Jimmy Butler won't let that happen again here. We like Miami to close out this series right here.
Lakers -5/224 vs. Rockets, 9 pm ET, TNT
This series is tied at a game apiece, following LA's 117-109 Game 2 victory Sunday. The Lakers jumped out to a 21-point lead in the second quarter, led by 16 at the half, then fell behind by five late in the third quarter. But they recovered by holding Houston to just 17 fourth-quarter points for the win and the cover as favorites of 5.5 points.
On the night, Los Angeles shot a hot 57 percent from the field, held the Rockets to 45 percent shooting, and outscored Houston in the paint 54-26.
With Sunday's win, the Lakers are 5-2 SU, 4-3 ATS in these playoffs.
With Sunday's loss, the Rockets are 5-4 SU, 4-5 ATS in these playoffs.
But Houston is also still 3-2 both SU and ATS against Los Angeles this season.
Free NBA Playoff Pick: We're 1-1 ATS picking this series, taking Houston both games. We do not expect the Lakers to shoot 57 percent from the floor Tuesday, like they did Sunday, and we also expect a little better performance from the Rockets. We'll take Houston and the points again for this Game 3.
