Saturday's NBA Point Spread Picks
Toronto can get back to even, and Denver will try to do the same when NBA playoff betting action continues Saturday. Who do we like for our free NBA playoffs betting picks?
Raptors -1/214 vs. Celtics, 6:30 pm ET, TNT
Boston leads this series two games to one, following Toronto's 104-103 minor-miracle victory in Game 3 Thursday night. The Raptors trailed by ten at the half and by two with .5 of a second to go. But OG Anunoby tossed in a quick-hit 3-pointer at the buzzer for the win to keep Toronto from going down 3-0 in the series.
The Raptors pushed the spread as one-point favorites Thursday.
With Thursday's victory, Toronto is now 5-2 SU, 3-3-1 ATS in these playoffs.
With Thursday's loss, the Celtics are now 6-1 SU, 5-1-1 ATS in these playoffs.
Boston is now 5-1 SU, 4-1-1 ATS this season against the Raptors, even though the Celtics finished five games behind Toronto in the final regular-season standings.
On the injury front, Boston continues to play without injured F Gordon Hayward, although they haven't seemed to miss him too much so far.
Free NBA Playoff Pick: We're 0-2-1 ATS picking this series, taking Toronto all three games. But it's time to switch horses here. The Raptors should be down three games to none; they got awfully lucky to win Thursday and push that spread. Meanwhile, Boston is just playing the better overall ball. We'll take the Celtics to bounce back here and win.
Clippers -9/221.5 vs. Nuggets, 9 pm ET, TNT
LA leads this series 1-0 after taking Game 1 Thursday 120-97. That game was tied at 31 after one quarter, but the Clippers used a 38-20 second quarter to lead by 18 points at the half. They later pushed that advantage to 29 points on their way toward the victory and the easy cover as favorites of 8.5 points.
On the night, Los Angeles shot a hot 57 percent from the floor while holding Denver to just 42 percent shooting.
With Thursday's win/cover, the Clippers are now 5-2 both SU and ATS in these playoffs.
With Thursday's loss, the Nuggets are now 4-4 SU, 5-3 ATS in these playoffs.
Also, Los Angeles is now 3-1 SU and ATS against Denver this season, with those three victories coming by 29, 13, and 23 points.
Thursday's game saw its total line get bet down from 226 to 223, and then it played under anyway. The play seems to be getting tighter as these playoffs progress; 13 of the last 16 playoff games have played under their totals.
Free NBA ATS Pick: We're 1-0 ATS picking this series, after giving the points with the Clippers in Game 1. And LA will probably win this game, too. But the Clips caught Denver on an off-night Thursday; we expect a better performance out of the Nuggets Saturday. We're not big believers in the zig-zag betting theory; it's only 15-22 ATS during these playoffs. But we'll take Denver and the points here.
