Spurs vs. Clippers Game Overview
The good news for the Spurs heading into this game is the expected return of both Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili to the starting lineup. Parker missed some time before the break to rest some minor injuries, but Ginobili had been sidelined since the end of January with strained hamstring. Center Tiago Splitter remains questionable with a calf contusion and Kawhi Leonard is expected to be out until later this month after fracturing his hand on Jan. 22.
This rash of injuries has taken its toll in the win-loss column with a straight-up record of 7-7 in San Antonio's last 14 games. It remains in the midst of an extended nine-game road trip with a 4-2 SU mark in the first six outings. The Spurs are 3-3 against the spread during this stretch and 25-28 ATS overall. They have done a better job covering on the road with a 15-12 mark ATS. Parker remains the team's top scorer with 17.7 points a game and the Spurs are ranked ninth in the NBA with an average of 103.8 points while shooting a solid 49 percent from the field.

The Clippers' main injury concern for Tuesday night is JJ Redick. He is listed as questionable with back spasms that kept him out of four straight games before the All-Star break. They went into the break riding a three-game winning streak, but over their past seven games the Clippers are 4-3 SU and 3-4 ATS. The total has gone OVER in four of their last five games.
Chris Paul missed quite a bit of playing time with a shoulder injury, but he returned to the starting lineup on Feb. 9 in a blowout win over Philadelphia and last Wednesday he pumped-in 20 points and dished out 12 assists in a 122-117 victory over Portland. Blake Griffin led all scorers in that game with 36 points and he continues the lead the team with 24.2 points a game. The Clippers are ranked second in the league in scoring with 107 points, but they fall all the way to 15th in points allowed (100.6).
The Spurs are 1-6 ATS in their last seven conference games and 0-5 ATS in their last five games against a team with a SU winning record. The total has gone OVER in five of their last six games.
The Clippers are 6-13 ATS in their last 19 home games against a team with a SU winning record on the road and 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a SU win. The total has gone OVER in five of their last seven games played at home.
Head-to-head in this matchup, the underdog is 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings and the total has gone OVER in the last four. The two split the first two games of this season's series with the home team winning each game both SU and ATS.
Both teams are much closer to full strength then they have been in quite a while and they will obviously be well rested after the extended break. The return of Paul to the lineup should add enough of a punch for the Clippers to get the SU win at home, but I am banking on the return of Parker and Ginobili to keep the Spurs close enough to cover with the five points.
